Dear NCES,
I am glad you have addressed your concerns and sincere evaluation on the open secret of the EDA/BAITO politics for the last few years … unfortunately, many well meant individuals and groups gave up and pursue their private life … Civic organizations, such as yours and many others failed to rescue the movement when it was needed the most … I sincerely hoped for your organization and others to play the leading role. Although it is not late to address the demands of the people and to restructure the BAITO to make it a fair and an all inclusive type of organization … but I would think ,it requires a little more than admission of wrong doing, and a six page letter … If the NECS still thinks it will change the BAITO by simply addressing their faults , with out some kind of enforcing mechanisms, then my dear friends in NECS, you will be repeating & allowing the same manipulation and intrigue as you recently witnessed … Given the experience of the EDA/BAITO, I strongly believe this soft approach of NECS would not make a dent, let alone make a significant change to the existing stagnant structure …
The following is what I suggest on top of NCES recommendations :
Distribute the six page evaluation and proposal paper to all the opposition groups around the globe, before you submit your proposals to the defunct EDA/BAITO groups, or before you send your replaced delegate to represent you … let the diaspora civic groups exhaustively discuss your proposals and ad their input as well … or form some sort of coalition with as many civic groups as you possibly can …
Make sure your proposal endorsed by as many Civic and Political groups in diaspora … thicken the pressure on the BAITO clique in Addis … Submit the final and refined proposal to various nations & institutions …
As we all witnessed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and now Syria, and the catastrophic out come of the armed insurgent movements supported by neighboring counties … NCES must strongly denounce the armed groups in Ethiopia, and demand to disarm immediately as a precondition to resume a healthy discussion with the EDA/BAITO … other wise the balkanization and disintegration of Eritrea is inevitable …
Let us give Ethiopia what it deserves for providing a safe heaven to Eritrean refugees, a big thank you … at the same time let us not fear addressing our concerns and reservations on their biased attitudes towards the EDA/BAITO, after all Ethiopia’s strategic interest can be served by having a stable and peaceful Eritrea as their neighbor …
At the same time all the civic and political organization must accept the Eritrean Defense Force as the only legitimate national army that should be recognized … and NECS must also study the nature of the EDF and incorporate with their proposal — this ought to be considered as one of the preconditions as well …
1. As a civic group, the survival of the nation ought to be given a priority, Previously, a sanction on Eritrea has hardly discussed on its implication to the average Eritrean, or for that matter to the nation’s sovereignty … I recommend this issue ought to be revisited by all who are concerned on the future of Eritrea … even if we have to consider and evaluate earlier positions, then let it be, again, the nations survival has the utmost importance …
Since NECS wants to make a fresh start to the wrongs of the past, and let’s make this one a strong come back with a solid demands and open discussions that can produce a tangible results …

These points it seems me very important for unity and success any conference.
1st) The conference if needed not to be influenced or instrumentalize by foreign powers, specially by Ethiopia and others interest group, the conference should not to be held in Ethiopia, but somewhere in Europe, US or other in democratic continent should be.
But when i say this i don´t mean, it is not necessity for common interest to work together or to cooperate with Ethiopia. Indeed we need Ethiopian support
2nd)All the oppositions group must be participated for one common Agenda in conference like in text stated above.
3rd) The secondary parties own agenda should not to be discussed as main agenda inside the conference, but only in free democratic Eritrea should be
4th)The participants identity must to be proved weather all are real Eritreans
5th) All medias should work together for common goal to mobilize people
6th) In my view before conference all party leaders by all media should share their ideas to their party members and to the majority public to convince us as they are ready to go to conference only for one common goal
The 7th most important point i found for success Eritrean Oppositions should to have one communal own TV canal, like the Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT)like. Because this will enable us all oppositions leaders and their agendas to know, to increase the most silent majority public consciousness, and to introduce us our Representatives who they are and for what agenda they stand and fighting for to know . In my view this TV canal if formed, should to have studios in London, US, other Europe or also other continents like ESAT doing. The formation of having such communal media, i believe will have a positive impact for unity, for developing public consciousness, even this written article massage, if were be presented and informed through such media canal, could you imagine how very effective could be its impact? This is why the necessity of formation such communal TV Media. Our Media has to learn a lot for ESAT TV experience, i am sure most Eritrean as they will support that.

If the next National congress wants to be succeful and free from any external influence, i believe these points are important.
1st) The congress if to be non influenced or instrumentalize by foreign powers, specially by Ethiopia and others interest group, the congress should not to be held in Ethiopia, but somewhere in Europe, US or other in democratic continent should to be.
But when i say this i don´t mean, it is not necessary for common interest to work together or to cooperate with Ethiopia. Indeed we need Ethiopian support

It is a good move to start doing something like what u are doing to unite our forces unconditionally but I was disappointed not to see this important information at least in English. How much effort does it take to translate it to English so that the thousands of Eritreans who can not read Tigrigna can hear you? Can you please do it ASAP so that we can understand what you are doing clearly?
