    Very pragmatic view,Teclay welcomes clash of ideas,difference of opinions,the make up and breakup of political groups within the opposition,not only as natural,it is healthy in the eventual formation of decisive united force..I like the example of the problem solving skill of the unit leader,I guarantee you,he did’t graduate from West point military academy,reminds me of my mentor martyr Mengsteab Tecle,missing you today buddy.The vision of what you died for is still alive and kicking it is just taking a little time.Thanks Amanuel and Teclay,a dynamic duo.

    Thank you Amanuel & Teklay Abrha
    This interview is really for us for those who are 60+ and not for the young Eritreans..
    We never took a lesson from our mistakes.We should first accept our mistakes,correct our unfounded grievances and accept the blame and come close to repentance.Then and only then can we be example to them.Let us act as parents and give advice to them.However we should also listen to their complaints and fill in the gap.The can do and they can bring change in Eritrea. I am confident that they will be responsible citizens at one time.

    Mr.Teklay said that “ሓንቲ መዓልቲ እቲ ዕላማ ክብጻሕ እዩ ” —If you ask ,what that goal could be ?? The answer is the demolishing of the Isaias rule .=full stop .Now let us compare the Ghedli generation’s goal before 91 VS today’s goal;
    -To topple Mengstu……and after ???? Nobody knew ………………to topple Isaias,,,,,and after ??? i don’t know.
    you have heard several times the statement ” why don’t the organizations unite?” …Well, political parties unite , Orgs unite ,,companies unite ,only and only if they have common standards and similar goals ..Isn’t it ????? If one plans ´traveling to Mendefera from Asmara and the other plans traveling to Keren from Asmara ,,,,Does it make sense one to ask the other to travel together ????

    Dear Ato Teclay Abraha,

    I just finished listening to your otherwise engaging and mature take on your eventful experience. If I have to take a heavy weight of a substance in your narrative among the rest is your incredible firm stand right after independence when the rest of us were taken for a joy ride. That is the measure of a character. You stood your ground and refused to flow with the tide when you rightly predicted that independence with a mantra of exclusive was to end in misery as we see it today. All the respect for you and to you Sir!

    Papillion
    You said “If I have to take a heavy weight of a substance in your narrative among the rest is your incredible firm stand right after independence when the rest of us were taken for a joy ride”
    Brother .do you take some time to think before writing your comment??? In fact it is very sad to hear such statement from such a gentle man …Mr.Teklay didn’t accept the independence only because it was realized by the rival EPLF… ..So ,Mr Teklay condemned the EPLF brought (independence ) ….Had it been ELF’s independence ,he would have supported it .
    Any way ,if you believe in the so called independence ,you must accept the EPLF brought independence.,because there was no well organized and capable organization to do the job …OR you have to condemn the Ghedli project all in all. ..Like the gentle men Prof .Medhane ,Yosief G e.t.c..

    • Teclay November 4, 2016

      Sorry
      Please read
      …to do the job other than EPLF

      Teclay
      The achieved Ghedli project is Eritrean history nobody can deny or can twist it . So if
      you can’t swallow facts it is your problem . Dare you touch Eritrean sovereignty.
      To patriot Teclay Abraha and others products of Ghedli generation ;
      The vow we promised to originated principles laid down by the founders of struggle
      for better future exists to further its mission . Glad for you to witness yourself in
      New-York demonstration surrounded with Eritrean compatriots who share common
      point of view ” ERITREANS INTEREST BEYOND STUPID PARTISAN POLIICS ” .
      God gave us senses to trust our instincts and our guts that matters most than anyone
      else input or opinions .

    Will ato Teklay Abraha dare to show that he is an independent thinker? Is he one of the Jebha types or ELFites who would not stop talking about the “goods” of their Jebha but are unstoppable until they are told to shut up about Shaebia’s fault and weaknesses.
    Here is for your own review, taken from a respected independent thinker who went to San Georgio too:

    1.For many in the opposition of the Jebha mold, the crisis in Shaebia is all they needed to make a full time job out of rehabilitating Jebha and some of its dubious heroes. But this sounds more hypocritical than the Highdefites’ task of defending Shaebia because, while the Jebha defenders do want us to remember all the atrocities committed by Shaebia, they do not want us to remember even a single event that seems to mar the image of Jebha. All this despite the fact that this organization, throughout its history, has inhabited the worst of two worlds: although it emulated Shaebia in almost all its failings, it lacked the focus the latter displayed in fighting the enemy.

    But if there is anything that defines Jebha aptly, it is its sectarianism. This is an organization that was born out of sectarian motives, with ethnic and religious overtones; lived throughout its existence in sectarian squabbles (religious, regional, ethnic, linguistic and ideological); and understandably died as a result of its sectarian malaise. Its only half-hearted effort to reform itself in the 70’s soon floundered because it was never able to distance itself from its sectarian past, all along having been unwilling to let go the sectarian leaders of its past. No wonder that in its ashes, the Jebha factions that have survived it have now neatly aligned themselves along the very fault lines that doomed it to self-destruction. Only now, having come out of their respective closet, they openly wear their religious and ethnic hats all the way to their EDA meetings.

    • Ginda November 5, 2016

      2. The contradictions that Jebha supporters display could be seen everywhere: They have been diligently digging up all the skeletons they can find in Shaebia’s past (as it should be). But if you point to similar cases in Jebha – Falul, Suriyet Addis, Menfere, Rasai, and all other pre- and post-Adboha massacres. – they throw tantrums. They love to criticize Isaias for every blunder that he makes and for every crime that he commits (again, as it should be). But not only do they not want to hear any negative attribution about their leaders, however inept, undemocratic, sectarian or murderous they were, they also are in the active business of giving them a post-mortem “make over.” They never tire of reminding us of the marginalization of Kunamas under Shaebia (again, as it should be). But if you tell them that in this marginalization, which has a long history behind it, Jebha played a major role, with many of their villages burned down to the ground, many Kunamas killed and their cattle pillaged, they go nuts in anger. Day and night, they never tire of pointing out the inhumane treatment of prisoners under the hands of Shaebia/PFDJ (again, as it should be). But it is in one of the most shameful history of ghedli in Eritrea that Jebha summarily executed its Ethiopian prisoners at a time of its retreat in the late seventies. In this regard, even Shaebia didn’t match this atrocity. I could go on and on: the horrors of giffa (which actually started with Jebha), sexual abuse of women (especially by corrupt cadres and military leaders), endemic corruption of the leadership, etc – all areas that Jebha had excelled well before Shaebia came to be fully identified with them.

    Ginda,you actually took your time to write this extensive post above to hammer your point home,that is ok it is your given right,but let me remind you something,wasn’t the tyrant part of ELF and its leadership?if ELF was going after christian highlanders,he would have been the first victim.ELF was the spring board of sewra and it didn’t show up to the scene politically polished and shiny like a showroom car,it represented the blemishes of our society,it reflected us with all our ailments and so are the elements of the leadership,and that includes the tyrant.The events that happened in that era were the product of who we are,nobody is defending anybody,the people who committed crimes back then will be held accountable like the current ones,lets be objective,the irony is,the elements that split from the mother to correct her mistakes ended up committing crimes our nation has never witnessed in her entire history. Who is defending who and who is blaming who?This is our history,we all played part in it,we own it,it is a mess,lets fix it if we can,instead of chewing on it till the flavor is gone.

      K.Tewelde , there must be a solution to deal with this NEFAHITO .
