When Meb Keflezighi finished the New York City Marathon in two hours, nine minutes and 15 seconds the morning after Halloween, he became the first American to win the race in 27 years. But some spectators apparently missed the three red letters on his chest as he burst through the tape. Keflezighi is only “technically American,” argued CNBC sports writer Darren Rovell. He’s “like a ringer who you hire to work a couple hours at your office so that you can win the executive softball league.”

The controversial Brussels Conference(BC)is now over. This conference was regarded as a success story by its organizers and participants while it was criticised by other who were left behind closed doors. Conferences are democratic instruments where people assemble and discuss issues of interest. The impact of the BC can not be estimated at this time but will be assessed later in the process of our struggle for democracy.

We know that there is no rule of law in Eritrea, worse; there are no known rules of any kind, only arbitrary edicts and decrees. In fact the very People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) itself does not abide by the rules of its own organization. It is an organization that is gliding haphazardly without political radar even of the socialist kind.

The Brushless Saga never goes away. I was about to write an article regarding Eritrean singers – “Bere’na Tiyt Entekoynu, Meleketkum Medfe’ iyu”. As the title indicates, I intend to highlight their remarkable role in the past 4-5 decades in sustaining Eritrean nationalism and how their influential task and powerful voice mobilized the Eriteran people to fight for freedom.

They presented to several diverse groups of people including members of the United Nations, UN mission, Committee to Protect Journalists, Eritrean Civic Society , Eritrean Global Solidarity  and other individuals.
