For a number of years now, we have witnessed an ugly war launched on one of Eritrea’s venerable elder statesmen and an internationally renowned scholar, Professor Bereket Habte Selassie. A person who is a source of pride for Eritreans (and indeed Africans) has been vilified and defamed by resort to the most outrageous stories that can only be cooked by diseased minds.

senNovember 15 marks the fourth continuous year our beloved Senait Debessai and Ermias Debessai have been denied their right for justice. Four years that the family have been expecting a solution. There are thousands who have been denied their rights for more years than Senait and Ermias. Thousands are mourning for their loved ones. I write for my loved ones.

Six years after their illegal detentions, G-11, journalists and many other political prisoners have shown their enduring foresight and dedication.  To this day, they continue to cast a huge shadow over this brutal regime.  They continue to inflict more damage to this brutal regime in their confined cells than all the rest have done with all our freedom.
