Once upon a time in the Eritrean struggle for independence, a prominent Ethiopian journalist Bealu Girma was nominated by Dictator Mengistu Hailemariam to report the anticipated total destruction of EPLF in what history recalls as Shadishai Werar in view of Eritreans and Keykokeb Zemecha in that of the Ethiopians’. The result was devastating, a concrete proof to the world that the Eritreans would be there under any cost and situation! Bealu was overly surprised by the selflessness of our fighters that did not flinch an inch from their defensive positions (Nakfa Front) to come out winning the most critical battle in the history of our struggle for independence. He couldn’t help writing a book called OROMAI to express the hopelessness of Ethiopian dream in Eritrea indirectly predicting the eventual success of the struggle through the title and ended up murdered by his government as a result at a point in the go.
EPLF’s remarkable capacity that provoked Bealu to express his extraordinary pessimism through OROMAI is today reflecting another reality where the dictator is about to face its vicious verdict according to the latest development in our struggle. Bealu’s melancholic grievance through OROMAI on Mengistu Hailemariam’s political debuckle has now become my icon of expression about the dictator that will eventually bite the dust sooner that you think. Yet with full acknowledgement that his revolutionary conviction at the highest leadership level of the struggle caused Behailu’s OROMAI like his unprovoked anarchic bullism against the people has today caused his OROMAI in this final round of the fight where destiny is about to trash him away with his terrible legacy. Then was time for Mengistu to sing the blues in his way to the gutter of history as it is now the turn of the Eritrean dictator to more shamefully confront the cost of humiliating society in his trip to the same destination; only because “ሕጊ እንተረጊጽካዮ ተመሊሱ እዩ ዝረግጸካ”
Folks; excuse history for repeating itself as I borrow Bealu’s title for my article to express the beginning of success in the opposition camp against the staggering dictatorship depending on how well we fuel the current momentum of electing the committees and integrating our armed resources within the ongoing concept of grassroots movement all over the place.
Things are unfolding very fast against the dictator. I have reasons for being excited at a time when the dying dictatorship is running out of steam posting the last press release “ UNSC Action that undermines its own legal action” on October 23/2015, and One Editorial “Abiding Commitment” on June 19/2015; dead otherwise, reflecting the extra depressed situation of the dictatorship 26 years after independence.
In the mean time the Sudanese government has released brothers Hussein Kalifa and Abdalla Hamdoi and thanks for this but time will tell whether our revolutionaries will appreciate the fight of our people for their freedom and pay back by playing a constructive role in the currently going grassroots roadmap to democracy through genuine forgiveness and remorse for whatever happened in the past.

Seemingly, the East African community is trying to chase the criminal group composed of the charlies, the monkeys and the werkies not only out of the way but also out of the continent. Remember that they are now doing this because of the promising developments in the opposition camp. They see him falling apart as a result of our growing strength and want to be part of the inevitable as a matter of necessity simply because they know that the people will own their country soon.

The Eritrean national front in Israel has announced that unconditional unity was the answer; it has democratically elected its representatives according to the specifications of the grassroots strategy in the ground. Simply fantastic but we need to expedite the process everywhere in the world before the incoming UN verdict on the dictator’s crimes against humanity this summer to politically polarize the situation in favor of the struggle.
ጋዜጣዊ መግለጺ፡ ኮሚተ ሓድነት ኤርትራውያን ንፍትሒ ኣብ ዓባይ ብሪጣን has started the process of electing local committees in different cities of the United kingdom. This group has already accepted the grassroots (Bottom-Up) movement and currently reducing the theory to practice at the hometown of Assenna and OUR VOICE to the excitement of the Eritrean people. How can not they succeed armed with the ultra determined anchor of the fight Amanuel in town!
Comment: Certainly exciting news but lots of questions must be answered before we celebrate the birth of this armed struggle against the dictatorship; let’s see how the people reacted to the development in order to analyze it objectively.
Sara This is the beginning of the change we are expecting. People awareness must raise. Dictatorial regime is in its edge to collapse.
Tes: This is the way to liberate from the oppressor. Yes there will be callateral damage but there is no other option but to fight. People are dying quitly every day. It is much better to die fighting than slow and painful death under PFDJ
Musa Ali: There is no other option. Simply the solution is to assassinate the top ones. If we do not take the fight to them they will bring the fight to us.

Comment: The commentators were very positive about the situation. They appear to have unconditionally accepted the development without any question. I think this is dangerous! Their optimism is, however, justified because the regime is doing desperate things to survive the scary situation. The dictator is paying millions of dollars to foreigners that can say something positive about its performance after the UN put a tight rope around his neck. Armed pressure would therefore further complicate the situation for the regime to get more desperate before the upcoming UN verdict sometime this summer. Yet we can prepare ourselves for big political gesture then if the promising election of committees continues everywhere under AT LEAST the centralized management of Assenna and OUR VOICE. Amanuel is playing an outstanding role here and I congratulate the Eritrean people for having this extraordinary living legend within their society. Thank you Tegadalai Aman for your exceptional contribution to the grassroots movement! What you are doing at extreme sacrifice of your life will certainly bring a solution; I have no doubt that history will remember you as the most critical catalyst of the Eritrean democracy and God bless you!
Nsane: Eti solution neti eikey Iseyasn gujleun mktal kedhbu alewom kemey si resi endhir teharimu kalie akalat ayserhin eyu
Merhawi: This was what we expect, if this will continue many people can join the struggle . Because young people want see action before they join the struggle but I want to undermine the fighters to make care and identification to whom they have to attack which means our target must be to the idiot spies and generals who kill and oppressed innocent people
AHMED SALEH: I second to your idea . Our people’s main enemy are members of HGDF
SELEYA (security intelligence) that terrorized whole nation .
Any attempt to target these mafia group sends strong message for every
selfish coward who stand against his people interest.
Comment: The commentators in this classification conditionally welcome the situation expressing their concern on who the target of the group should be in the country. In parallel, I suggest eliminating the top individuals in the system would be fantastic. I am talking about those in the top hierarchy of the regime from him to the generals, etc. as suggested by the brothers above. We should eventually develop the capacity of attacking the regime wherever necessary but we have to integrate this group within the grassroots movement first before giving it the green light to exclusively carryout the task. It also has to be transparent by fully exposing itself and coordinating its work with the grassroots movement’s specification on having an armed wing to enjoy our mandate without a problem. In so saying, any justified Eritrean armed group can target the mining sites and even the companies that exploit our resources. Better, however, be integrating the armed resistance with the grassroots political strategy.
Once we organize or integrate our armed and strategic resources, we should use our right of targeting the
foreign individuals that work in the mining sites, officially requesting for their safe exit within applicable
timeframe before facing the consequence. We can even destroy the sites if possible for we don’t get anything out of them anyway and taking action against the foreigners in the mining industry after official warning is within our legitimate right as oppressed and exploited society. Yet, the mission has to be centralized within the grassroots movement for the end result to guarantee democracy after this dictatorship.
Constructive dialog: A sign of promising coexistence ahead
Sagem tigai: The beginning of the end! Eritrean opposition forces who have slept for quarter of a century seem now to wake up and start to make one stride forward against the brutal and MAFIA group of SHABIYA. Both the peoples of Eritrea and Ethiopia are the victims of the greedy and misguided policies of the CRIMINAL group in Asmara. Now these brotherly peoples must join hands to eradicate once and for all the anti people regime for a common good. A good beginning is a good ending!
Hagherawi: segem Tigrai; Indeed, the regime in Asmara is the most brutal on planet. Having said that, it’s the responsibility of Eritreans to remove them from power. Then, the two brotherly, sisterly, countries, will live in peace by abiding by international laws, respecting each others sovereignty, and helping each other to eradicate poverty along their common demarcated borders.
Comment: Freedom is indeed around the corner! Eritreans and Ethiopians will live in peace respecting and helping each other from now on. We all have to work with that focus in mind.

Any power that came through the struggle wasn’t success, instead we saw that way of struggling put people into misery, persicuation…. now this will again lead Eritreans into unwanted situation. Personal i’m not happy with the news you putted on your website, because that’s not something good for us, we paid 100,000s for nothing, if we allow to happen this again it will be more devastating, putting bombs on roads?????? …… it can take a life of innocent people and we don’t want ……

Comment: The concern is justified. Almost all armed struggles have produced dictatorship and the fate of this group can only be similar but only if it remains independent refusing to be part of the grassroots movement. There are questions that must first be answered for us to understand what we should do about the situation. What does this group want and who leads and finances it? Has it ever met our people in any part of the world? Is it independent or influenced by other forces within or outside our region? Does it have a clear strategy to democracy? Is it willing to work with the grassroots movement and what is the proof if it does? Is there any material to read or Website to surf about this group? These are my first questions as a person that someone to answer before I ride the wagon.
I am feeling comfortable, however, after listening to Assenna’s interview with the group. I heard that it was a product of our citizens in Ethiopian refugee camps that did not have the chance of meeting different elements of the struggle till this point in time. I felt excited hearing that it was willing to work with the people’s movement; even offering contact address and pleading for any interested group to use. This resilience is a fantastic offer that ASSENNA and OUR VOICE should immediately exploit to further enhance the grassroots movement collectively. I also hope that Assenna will do more interviews with the group and OUR VOICE to induce their potential integration ahead.
In conclusion I congratulate Amanuel for his achievements and accelerated effort to close the era of dictatorship with the grassroots based democratic vision. I thank him very much for the exhausting journey he travelled to get us here. He is working extremely hard for his people and deserves maximum support to continue the fight with this remarkable intensity. Aman should from now on start travelling around to directly encourage his people into following the current political direction more than any time in the past. We will benefit tremendously from his attendance in different cities and countries where the committee election process may be conducted. He will need money to cover media and travelling expenses to promote the activities in different parts of the world and the least we can do is financially backing him up in this regard. Remember that Assenna is no more only a giant communication medium of the people but also a formidable civic entity with defined grassroots political strategy that needs more money to succeed in both ends of the challenge (media and politics). Please take care of this responsibility

Well said brother finally our SUN is going to shine. Long live all justice seeking people, if we work together and make our voices heard Isyas and his handful accomplices will run for their lives. Remember what Ali Abdu did. When they realize the pendulum is swinging the other way they will follow their wives who are already abroad.

    Brother Fitsum ,

I feel like your well wishing mind maybe getting ahead of your sound logic.I wish if you could explain your support for the clandestine “Our Voice” organization with excellent ideas ,nevertheless what bothers most people ,including your’s truly is the secretive nature of this organization. What is that makes them this secretive while living abroad ,in democracy every organization should be open for scrutiny…..I feel like in your haste to be part of the solution you are hugging masked ,men ,women, transgenders, vampires etc .as my respect for you is high ,I want you to explain why you put them in a good light ,without knowing who they are ?
As to your recommendation for Assenna ,I second your motion.

    Asking with pure intentions
    Your’s truly
    Mr. Mekhalif

I think it’s correct to believe that the end is near for the Erirean regime. People are getting organized where ever they are. The struggle must be supported where ever it may be. Because it creates awareness among people. But at the end of it we must not kill the top guys before they return all our money deposited under their names in Europe and all tax free havens in Sicily and elsewhere. Then they must be brought to justice.

Hi WUENDEME Fitsum i believe change is coming to to our beloved Eritrea and that would be within leadership that have been kept on side or Diskilom by this devil man we call PIA.. we are ready for that.. i don’t think any of this diaspora movement have a significant influence
    ending SERAAT ESIAS.
the transition period to establish and adapt a constitutional government is very vital to our success. i cant see any of this diaspora based opposition group have a capability to take that task.

        Brother Futsum
A lot of our activists are non-partisan members . As long the issue
connects us , party politics takes back seat .
Most interesting development about national causes recent campaigns in our movement to recognize the broken trust and the need to rebuild it
is first step forward accomplishment . And to educate people about political process , social barriers , ideological obstacles goes along
side the struggle to prepare for well informed society .
We learned a lesson from Egyptian movement for change also called in
Arabic KEFAYA (ENOUGH) that represent a new force with potential of
creating a new mainstream invented by a group of activists and intellectuals interacted across ideological lines to reach common
ground on targeting President Mubarek authoritarian regime .
Your pen is sharpest than bullet , use it in defense of our voiceless fellows men/women . Keep it up with pride.

It is the hate of Ethiopians to mengistu rather than the strength of weyane that eradicated Derg. I see that in eritrea now. All attempts by dictator to divide us are proving futile.
