Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir says his country gave military support to the Libyan rebels who overthrew Col Muammar Gaddafi.

In a speech broadcast live on state television, Mr Bashir said the move was in response to Col Gaddafi’s support for Sudanese rebels three years ago.

Sudan and Libya have had a complicated and frequently antagonistic relationship for many years.

Libya was declared liberated on Sunday, two days after Col Gaddafi’s death.
‘Opportunity to reciprocate’

President Bashir said the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), a Darfuri rebel group, had attacked Khartoum three years ago using Libyan trucks, equipment, arms, ammunition and money.

He said God had given Sudan a chance to respond, by sending arms, ammunition and humanitarian support to the Libyan revolutionaries.

“Our God, high and exalted, from above the seven skies, gave us the opportunity to reciprocate the visit,” he said.

“The forces which entered Tripoli, part of their arms and capabilities, were 100% Sudanese,” he told the crowd.

His speech was well received by a large crowd in the eastern Sudanese town of Kassala.

JEM leader Khalil Ibrahim lived for some time in southern Libya.

Now he is back in Darfur, in western Sudan, where an eight-year-old civil war continues.

Mr Bashir’s remarks show a desire to forge firm links with Libya’s new government.

But the easy availability of weapons in Libya, and that country’s porous border with Darfur, are also of great concern to the Sudanese authorities

You don’t say!!! So Sudan was able to exact revenge for Qaddafi’s meddling in Sudan. And he said it in the presence of Gual Berad. It was a dig at gual medhin. He was both sending him a message and also insulting the dead paymaster and his mercenary gual berad.

If is amazing how an healthy is the relationship between dictators. There are no principles involved in their daily life beside how to maintain and perpetuate power. I’m not sure if Isayas was present during Bashir’s discourse……for sure the whole thing can turn 180 degree and hit him very soon. Beshir must have a lot of prayer up to the seven Heaven against Isayas for unsettled scores as we all know it. What a visit Ato Isayas!

It is ironic when President Beshir to tell the world that he equipped The Libyan revolution
army with arsenal. Guess who is around him in Kesella at this moment, Ato Issayas a friend
of KEDDAFI. And continued by saying their capability and weapons are 100% SUDANESE.
Well, can you see the picture as I see it. It looks I’m done with you , Bring it on!

    Wow,
I did not know that Bashir had the guts to do that, well what do we know? In any case as stated above dictatre do not trust anyone and do not trust each other as well. So Issias and Bashir thought they are physically together but they are always far apart in trying to outsmart one another when possible. However do not get me wrong in their isolated world they also need each other to keep company.
    God know what is next

    My good people,

This will be my last post for I will be busy in the months ahead. I feel like I’ve known all of you for ages for we have not only a common concern but the kind of love and respect we express for and to each other outweighs the at times overcharged emotions we throw on eachother’s ways. May God bless you and May God bless Eritrea.

      Dear Hawey Temesgen Medhanie,

With you absent, the light will be dimmer. You are an extraordinary force of nature and a very positive one. A lot of us gravitated around you and it felt good. With young people like you, Eritrea has nothing to fear. It will get there! We shall miss you and await your return with eagerness. May God bless you. Haftcka

Bashir told Issias tacitly, I will not forget when you stabbed me in the back with USA backing.
This speech was made in Kessela in front of Issaias
Omar al Beshir has two major traits:
    1. he is heartless and coldblooded evil who will burn thousands of people alive;
    2. He never forgets his enemies no matter what. He hold grudges “qim” for life.
Issaias had bled Sudan by arming all its opposition and by bombarding Sudan directly. The result is the independence of South Sudan. In addition, Issaias was reporting every confidential information about Sudan to the USA in the 1990s.
There is no other person that Omar al Beshir wants to see dead as a dog than Issaias Afewerki. Sudan knows Issaias is cornered and he has nowhere to go, only time will tell.
Sudan is still voting with all the IGAD and AU nations for full sanctions against Eritrea. Al Beshir says one thing but does the opposite to bleed Hgdef. There is no love between Hgdef and the Islamist regime in Sudan.
He said God had given Sudan a chance to respond, by sending arms, ammunition and humanitarian support to the Libyan revolutionaries. “Our God, high and exalted, from above the seven skies, gave us the opportunity to reciprocate the visit,” he said.

  • DICTATORS HAVE NO HONOR October 27, 2011

Dictators only care about how to survive another day and take revenge on their enemies. Today you are their friend, tomorrow their enemy. They have no code of honor. I hope the Bashir will get his time soon and his pal Isaias.
