    When you undertake a revolution, the difficulty is not to make it go; it is to hold it in check.
    All military coups are not staged to thwart suppression by all authoritarian or totalitarian regimes. In fact they are staged on self-interest motives. Since all politicians are self-interested in nature. Likewise military leaders are self-interested practitioners. We have seen it in the so called “democratic coup” of Turkey and Egypt, that the military have promoted economic and social privileges for themselves by constitutional entrenchment. Upon seizing power, the military ordinarily disbands the parliament, annuls the constitution, and suspend judicial reviews, providing itself a virtual monopoly on coercive power. By virtually monopolizing power, the military maximizes its self-interest motives. The military can let a different branch of government protect its interests and avoid accountability.
    People are that make a society, and people that make society also develop a good government that governs them. In other words, the people that form a society are the people that create a government institutions that governs them. So the people that form the Eritrean society are failed to form a government they could own it – a government that administer their difference and make them live at peace.
    In short, in Eritrea we have an “abnormal state” where the government institutions do everything for the interest of the party (PFDJ) and not for the interest of the people. In such an abnormal state, there is no rule of law, no constitution, and no functioning parliament. The government runs the “virtual state” by the party laws and its guiding principles like that of North Korea or communist party of China.
    Sadly, when the moral of the Eritrean people goes down and left without alternatives; when the people lack vision and leadership that unites them, it is not unusual to seek a refugee in a military coup. However, calling for coup brings more coups and hell possibly to follow in the end.

      Bravo Ghebrehans T, really well said brother.
      Reality check! Could we see a popular uprising in Eritrea, is there a possibility?
      If we look into popularity of the army, and whether it is liked by the people or not, as far as I know, in Eritrea the army represents the oppressed people. It represents almost every family. It’s underpaid and abused, therefore, there is no credibile evidence that Eritreans hate the army as a social class or as an entity.
      Eritreans have been abused by policies formulated by the PFDJ and enacted by a top-down hierarchy of the military. I believe that military should stay out of politics, but of course, the desperation that emanates from the fear that what a protracted popular revolt could cause, could be more damaging and its results may not even be foreseeable. That’s why military option or change might be the best option for Eritrea and Eritreans.

      Dear Mr.Gebrehans T.

      Your analysis is sober. Let us distil it.
      1. Military by its nature is not fit for civil government;
      2. The People that form the Eritrean society have failed;
      3. Eritrean Intellectuals–hope of a Nation — have failed;
      4. Diaspora Eritreans of all walks of life have failed.
      5. Where do we go here???????

        correction:
        Please insert the word “from” after “go” in the last Line. Thank you.

    According to TesfaNews Hilary Clinton and some other American
    criminals funded Operation Forto but failed with their intention to overturn the current gvt in Eritrea. I know that IA has
    messed up deeply with Eritrea but I think that Eritrean opposition groups should be very wary of siding with known criminals in the west. Just look at how US interference sabotaged Southern Sudan’s independence and how it is the US who is robbing them of their riches today…

      Do you think millions of People of the world leave their mother land to live in a country where criminals lead the country. If i were you i check Tesfanews twice. Tesfanews shows us to kinds world we live in. One the tesfanews fictional life and the other one which is the real world. It is upto you to identify which is which.

      Get reali Tsimblali-E

      Do not try to mislead innocent individuals.

      What should be surprised is why those close to the pfdj circles have not taken decisive action efficiently.

      The discontent has been there for so long; now it has reached everyone of us.

    Ghebrehans T. has said what it should be said as far as civil politics is concerned, and and reflected correctly the abnormal conditions that is prevailing in Eritrea today. It is well said and hope readers and litners would be mindful of this.
    What really concerns me is the situation of Bekita and the children here. I have special sympathy and feeling for this family because I know what it takes to adapt and be used to conditions and circumstances here in Europe for this faily. The campaign made last year by assenna foundation in this respect was really a noble one. However, the wife and the children of Wedi Ali are now in a safe place. They have to be left to lead their life normally with their personal respect and integrity fully respected. Bekita has to continue to start from scratch to learn the language and custom of her host country and the children enjoy the opportunity of free eduacation and life. The family should NOT be made a centre of attention and attraction of any media outlet or any party for intersts of any nature or any selinterest for that matter. This is immoral and the consequential psychological damage could be bad to the wife and the children. My point to Haw Amanuel in particular and to everybody else in general is to act and behave responsibly in this matter and other similar circumstances. I say this NOT because I know wedi ALi or his family or have anything to do with the movement but purely out of a genuine observation and out of experience as a person of family in the diaspora fo the last 30 years. It is a fact, the genuine desires and participations of the Eritrean people during the period of liberation struggle was not to reap the fruits of misery, suffering and what not is happening in Eritrea. But condions have changed it requires wisdoms and actions of a higher nature than what is being manifested in the media and the so-called opposion movements. The key words to the young generation are: Educate yourself, Work hard to earn your living, develop yourself through continous knowledge o moral, the arts and sciences and all other opportunities by adapting yourselves in the countries and societies where you have found a place to live. Then the next stage of being organized and be able to influence conditiond in your country will follow naturally. Do not be victims of the vultures of spent politicians at home or abroad.
    Finally,May God guard the integrity and the safety of the family of Wedi Ali in their place of abode and may the children grow in wisdom and education to defend themselves morally and legally.
    God Bless to all people of Goodwill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone in a position to do something good that fosters the preservation of the life of every Eritrean democrat and that contributes to the neutralization or removal of the evil forces of tyrany and dictatorship in Eritrea has to be encouraged. This, goal and objective should not be forgotten especially by those of us who have enough experience, intelect and are of age. But the wise, the dedicated ones, those of integrity and are proven self-less patriots have to lead and come to the forfront. Actions speak louder than words!
    Finally,May God guard the integrity and the safety of the family of Wedi Ali in their place of abode and may the children grow in wisdom and education to defend themselves morally and legally.
