Dr. Afwerki Paulos‘ bio is the most prominent: he appeared in a video clip in 1993 in a public meeting where Isaias Afwerki was present. Since then, he was apparently studying the Eritrean struggle and in 2010 he openly dived into the opposition camp just prior to the Awassa congress where he was elected an MP (actually its equivalent). His achievement? It is a feat because he, “asked Isaias about the Asmara University debacle in a 1993 public meeting in Washington, DC!” Though a member, he also had a role in crippling the Eritrean National Council which was born deformed and suffocated in its infancy.
Dr. Araya Debessay is among my favorites. He likes to come up with many proposals and initiatives, but he quickly gets bored and disappears. He doesn’t approve of the organized political parties and would like to replace them with seasonal activists—so much for inclusiveness! In short, Dr Araya likes to start everything from scratch, every other season.
Dr. Kidane Mengisteab: Who? I heard of him a few years ago when my friend Kasahun Chekole sent me a book Dr. Kidane wrote (or co-wrote, not sure) about Eritrea. I can’t say much about the book, but he is apparently more into Kenya, Uganda, and others than Eritrean issues.
Many of us fell prey to Salih Gadi’s crafty mind. For a long time I swore by the man : his courage, his knowledge, his dedication. yes, he is antagonistic and confrontational- but, I attributed this to an altruistic nature. I saw him as man who can bring us together-a bridge. I was and am still in love with Awate.com. But,regrettably Salih has not exploited his potential as an educator, reconciler, an informer. He is too much bogged down into character assassination,controversy and them vs us attitude. I honestly, hope he reflects on certain issues and broadens his fold.
Ato Haile Gebretensaie, you never miss an opportunity to condemn those who initiated the ELF as sectarian, why ?. You and your friend Yosief Gebrehiwet, in the name of freedom of expression, condemn the Eritrean revolution, what are the true motives behind such narrative ?
Is the eritrean revolution immune from criticism? If so why are we whining about its end result.Its end result is Isaias and his dictatorial regime. you may give it what ever name,it is what it is. The current state of affairs in eritrea did not start in 2001,when Isayas decided to imprison his long time friends and partners in crime.

Can you please tell us in what way you and Saleh by trading accusations can bring unity of the opposition camp ?. Isn’t there a better way to settle your differences without damaging the good offices of our Doctors who are trying to bring people together ?
Besides, do you think someone who calls Hamid Idris Awate a “shifta” can be an acceptable mediator to united opposition groups led by Ghedli generation ?
Don’t you think you are wasting a lot of precious time in dealing with history while Eritrea is about to turn into another Somalia ?
Did Saleh Ghadi spoiled Eritrean opposition politics I didnt believe this is not the way of critics but I belive vise versa he is an Iron man who spoilled and damaged Regime’s politic and Saleh Gadi is icon for Eritrean opposition media.so if you have a convinsing critic we would learn and know.otherwise it will be እተን ኣሓ ከይደን ጸርፉሞ ዝገደፍና የብለናን።ከይከውን።
The article of Saleh Gadi in concern of EFND and some unnecessary personal vendetta against individuals wasn’t expected from political activists like
him . EFND wrote back in response respectfully and I hope they find ways to
reconcile for the sake of justice seekers movement .
And brother Haile , two wrongs doesn’t make a right to keep putting fingers
on each other . To build the momentum ditch the outdated past to contemplate
the road ahead . Our good and bad times must be the link to grow us stronger
if we are able to sort out things together .
Eritrea needs practical results not arguments . And with its own culture of
idealism the devoted young nationalists should get an access by given open
opportunities without monopolizing the nation’s politics but concentrated
common efforts in regard to progress can change the status-quo in a major
way to our benefit .
