ብፍላይ ድማ ፡ ዓንደ ብርሃን ወልደ ገርግሽ ፡ ቅድሚሎሚ ብኢሳያስ ኣፈወርቂ ፡ ብደረጃ እሙን ወኪል ተሓርዩ ፡ ፕረሲደንት ናይ ኣስመራ ኮይኑ ፡ ኣብ ዘመሓድረሉ ዝነበረ እዋን ፡ ኣነ ውን ፡ ኣብቲ ግዜቲ ኣብ ኣስመራ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሮፈሰር ኮይነ የገልግል ስለዝነበርኩን፡ ኣብ ልዕለና ኣብ ልዕሊ መማህራን ዩኒቨርሲቲን፡ ኣብ ልዕሊ ኣሽሓት ተመሃሮን ዝተጻወቶ ፡ ሰፍ ዘይብል ኣዕናዊ ተራን፡ በደልን ፡ ኣብ ክንዲ ይቕረታ ምሕታት፡ ከምዘይወዓሎን ዘይፈልጦን ኮይኑ ፡ ክኽሕድ ስለዝረኣኹ ፡ ሓቂ ንከይሽፈንን፡ ንጹር መጻኢ ራእይ ንኽህሉን ብማለት፡ ነዚ ሓጺር ጽሑፍዚ ከቕርብ ተገዲደ፡፡ ንዝሓለፈ ጊጋታትካ ክትእርም ዘይምድላይን፡ ሸፋፊንካ ምኻድን ግን ፡ ኣብ መጻኢ እዋን ውን ፡ ዕድል እንተጋጢሙኒ፡ ነቲ ቅድመ ሕጂ ዝፈጸምኩዎ ተግባራት፡ ኣዳህሊለ ክደግሞ እየ ማለትዩ ዘስምዕ ፡፡ መምዘኒ ናይ መንነት ድማ እዩ፡፡

Dear Mr Pen-X,
We Eritreans have developed a culture of resistance and degradation. This is a very sad development. Everybody has the right to be better. If you have critiques to issues that are some decades old, then this is not the time to dig destructive matters out. Just NOT timely and not up-to-date as well!
Your aim is more than clear, just to put every antagonism in the bud, before it is too late and dangerous for the reigning dictatorial regime. But if you were progressive enough, you should have noticed what our bleeding motherland is in search of now. We need a unified diversity to achieve more or less an acceptable model of a democratic governance.
Mr Andebrhan W. seems in my eyes to be an experienced national who could help his people to get rid of the endless dictatorship and move forwards. This is my rational view. We have to learn to respect each other instead of looking for an alien person [possibly ‘WHITE’] to lead us. Let him work further! Let’s give him a chance and see
Finaly you have exposed yourself to be petty-minded as the contents of your article have only personal attack to the person who may have made failure (because only people who work do failure). Instead I would expect your opinion how the correction should look like.

Dear Mr x,
This article direct to all hgdef x officials being ministers, ambassadors, middle ranked officials to all left the current regime. Except handful such as wedi vocaro, diplomat saed Idris came out and said sorry to the people. They’re many of them all over the world they did fail to say sorry. No one in Eritrea is aiming for vengeance but to show sorrow and regret would be enough to heal the wound. I am not sure whether it is arrogance or could not see the importance they prefer to ignore it. When one leaves his post for what ever reason he or she obliged to go public and state it why. In Eritrea it is a bit strange they simply go in hiding or on the case of Andebrehan he come out of hibernation to engage with people without saying sorry. He didn’t make any effort to gain trust. I know he will say i have done any wrong and i shouldn’t say sorry. But that’s not the way to come back to people. He may say I was working with eseyas and hgdef and thought it was better to work from inside but i was wrong for that i am sorry. If i was guilty of anything i am happy to stand under the law in due course. nowlets work together to restore the rule of law.period. But his method of engagement is a bit sneaky and lack honesty . How on earth he can assume people trust him is beyond me.

You sound a typical hgdef by trying to silence the good doctor. What’s wrong with asking Andebrihan to come clean. Most of us are aware of the type of crimes Andebrhan was involved in by serving the dictator during the UA incident and during the imprisonment of G15. In fact apology is not enough. He should stay away from the justice seeking community for there are indisputable records proving lack of character on his part. We can’t afford to to be fooled again by power hungry XPFDJ criminals and that’s why the old guards should be stopped from taking us back to square one.

Natael, you said it rightly. Discussing issues that occurred about two decades ago is meaningless to Eritreans at this moment where every Eritrean is suffering by the dictator.
Mr Pen-X is deliberately creating divisions among Eritreans. Rather than raising issues that happed before 20 or so years, we better thing of the present and future situations of the country. Our efforts should be to bring together all Eritreans regardless what they have done; we are not here to revenge with each other. In addition, as Mr Pen -X mentioned, Mr Andebrahan is not the only cause of the conflict & dismissal of the faculty members. The cause is a combination of many individuals and groups(factors), including, & in fact the major cause of the conflict comes from the board members of the teachers’ association who started accusing the president without having tangible evidence. The screening committee is another main cause of the dismissal of faculty members and then the government itself. Like any individual, Mr Andebrahan can make mistakes. No one is absolute. In short, please we should not repeat again and again what has been done in the past. Our(Eritrean) main problem is that without analyzing its relevance or effect we always repeat what has happened in the past rather than solving the existing and future problems that devastating the country and people. Mr Andebrhan has now joined the opposition and fighting against the dictator. Well and good, we should accept his contribution (we should use his skills and capacity; he is a great scholar, diplomat and expert, no one can deny this fact) to fight the dictator and save the country.

do you hear yourself? Nobody is attacking Andebrahan! The writer is simply saying that Anderbrehan should accept the wrong things he did to our educated people and our only university and show remorse. You see andebrehan is trying to be the next president, we can not deny this! But before saying the present regime of which he was part, is criminal, he should apologise for being member (x memeber) and apologize for the pain he cause many university staff and their families. Without doing this he can not be trusted, we don’t know if he will repeat the crime in a larger scale after he becomes the ‘president’, i.e. ic he is trying to become the next dictator.
So please read and analyse before you comment!!!

The professor’s article is a reminder to the reformist version of PFDJ and early warning for future Eritrea. I do not understand why the victims are so quiet horrendous abuses of personal rights. They were libeled as if they were drunkards,reactionaries, fifth columnists, regionalisms, Derge sympathizers, unqualified and lazy. I heard that they could take their case in the nonfunctional court. Ok, forget that for known reason however, when this issue is raised, they should primarily tell what happened to teach the young generation who have no the right information. The so called reformist today and authoritarian of yesterday in the University of Asmara was precursor for the ruin of the only higher institution. He first dismissed Teachers’s association, annihilated University charter, fired qualified 2 and 3rd degree holders and replaced with 1st and 2nd degree holders with no teaching experience,exercised absolute power for nepotism and favoritism,cultivated hatred and prejudice. After creating chaos and irreparable damage to the University,he had to move somewhere to mess up again and finally as recognition for his destructive behaviour and actions,he was elevated to diplomatic mission. Now, without any word of regret and sense of shame, he pretends to become a progressive man. Oh, God!
