The Eritrean Independence was won in 1991, by paying untold human and material sacrifices. On this arduous war against neighboring Ethiopia, there wasn’t any single Eritrean household that didn’t pay the life or lives of its loved one(s).

Without complete fulfillment of the spelled out goals of the Eritrean armed struggle, which is unqualified Freedom and Democracy for all Eritreans, that dream has been stolen by, lssayas Afeworki, the self-proclaimed “President for Life”. And ever since, the political, and socio economic conditions of Eritrea, has been deteriorating by the day, and is still continuing further down the drain, without any signs of improvement.

Eritrea is still without any national constitution to be governed with, no parliamentary elections, no court of justice, no freedom of speech and movements. Thousands of our people are now living in underground prisons for unknown reasons, and without any opportunity to appear before any court of law, because there is none

As now is the darkest moment of Eritrea’s history, as an independent nation we, Eritreans, need to reclaim our souls, value systems, and ideals, and be engaged in an open discussion and dialogue, for the purpose of national salvation. But let’s be reminded that a true, and

Lasting solution to those lingering problems of national concern, can only, and should, come from Eritreans, through an open dialogue, but not through misinformation, deception, and antagonism.

“Eritrea’s” woes are endless and, my good friend, it is not the end but the beginning of ugly situation in “Eritrea”, looming ahead based on nothing else but RELIGION.

    rezen

You are terribly upset because Eritreans are calling for unity, and you felt that is not in interest.
You people are against the very idea of Eritrea, and the well being of its people. This is really a shame because you are trying to dismantle a country that treated you well, and gave you opportunity to live in peace and make a better future for yourself.
If a few called you “agame” that was wrong, but many such people also are some of your kins (Tigreans like you) who wanted to show they are more Eritreans than indigenous people. Please stop meddling in our affairs.

“Following the outbreak of the February Revolution in 1974, both fronts begun to swell ranks mostly coming from the highland population. However, it is the combination of many factors more than ardent nationalist feelings of the youth to join the fronts that helped build the strength of ELF and EPLF. The reckless handling of the sensitive Eritrean issue by the Dergh, the terror of the time, the economic depression that griped the country, and the role of pull factors such as peer pressure, ghedli romanticism and a way out of the socio-economic stagnation prevalent in the rural areas of the highland are to mention few. ”

Dr. Yebio says ” .. more than ardent nationalist feelings of the youth to join the fronts”, a combination of factors pushed many to join
ghedli, such as “the reckless handling of the sensitive Eritrean issue by the Dergh, the terror of the time, the economic depression that griped the country, and the role of pull factors such as peer pressure, ghedli romanticism and a way out of the socio-economic stagnation prevalent in the rural areas of the highland. ”

So according to him the young Eritreans who flocked to “meda” were not motivated by nationalism.
Isn’t this insult to the generation that gave so much to their beloved Eritrea ?
Ethiopianists come in many colors but this guy is really bad.
