PFDJ affiliate “National Council of Eritrean Americans” expressed its outrage after the US State Department cancelled PFDJ’s public meeting which was scheduled to be held in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, October 2, 2016, with senior PFDJ officials, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Osman Saleh and Yemane Gebreab, Head of Political Affairs of the PFDJ as guests. The council also confirmed cancellation of the forum organised by the lobby group Atlantic Council that had a plan to host one of the mentioned senior officials.

Nonetheless, its outrage is out of place and despicable reaction. First and foremost, the ‘National Council of Eritrean Americans’ should have spoken out about the gross violation of fundamental rights of the Eritrean people and suppression of their freedom by the regime it is trying to support and protect, instead of condemning the necessary action taken against the despot.

The decision by the US State Department which is likely taken as a response to the restriction of movement imposed by the PFDJ against its diplomatic mission in Asmara is in fact a positive move that should be welcomed, as it would encourage the regime to contemplate, even for a second, how the millions of people really feel about the freedom it has denied them for so long.

Putting aside its double standard, the National Council of Eritrean Americans, should have advocated for “freedom of assembly” and respect for “fundamental rights” everywhere, whether in the US or Eritrea, if it was to be taken seriously.

Please continue to read the statement issued by “The National Council of Eritrean Americans” to condemn the US State Department’s action.

Outrage at US State Department for Cancelling Eritrean Government Delegation Meeting in DC

The National Council of Eritrean Americans (NCEA) is dismayed to learn about the cancellation of the public meeting that was scheduled to be held in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 with members of the Eritrean government delegation.

It has also learned that the forum organized by the Atlantic Council where the Political Advisor to the President of Eritrea was invited to address was also cancelled. Various think tanks, civic organizations, and media outlets were invited to participate in the event.

These actions taken by the US State Department violate fundamental rights of Eritrean Americans as citizens of the United States, including their freedom of assembly.

It illustrates this Administration’s contempt for the Eritrean American communities across the United States, and contravenes international initiatives to foster closer relations between states and their Diaspora populations.

This latest unprovoked act by the US State Department is a continuation of the unjustifiable hostility against the people of Eritrea. This is yet another obstruction to the much needed constructive engagement between the two countries.

The NCEA will closely follow the developments and issue updates.

The most embarrassing situation for an official representing his country at the UN’s general meeting is to be accused of always telling lies, even when telling the truth because he tried several times to disguise as an innocent politician. Not only was that, for the unlucky Yemane to be caught outside the UN’s building crossing his limits of 25 miles radius in disguise was even the most disgraceful experience.
    ..
The awkward moment proved to Yemane and the regime supporters that always crimes and prison walk hand in hand. Once again, history repeats itself that unmasking a crook in disguise to hide his identity is an admission of all allegations of involvement in the crimes committed against the humanity in Eritrea.

Thank you America for protecting lies of the professional liars.

It is the shame for us Eritreans because they have put Eritrea in such a disgusting situation.
Our image thanks to our dictator and his monkeys is in a waste basket!!!

Shame on you for the shameless monkey and for the nominal Foreign Minister.
It is time to act and not talk. You have talked enough for the last 25 years for nothing.

I am sure you will speak about Ethiopia more than yours because you want to cover your failure big time.
The open death of Ethiopian demonstrators is nothing compared to the hidden death of Eritreans.

Some commentators seem too occupied with Ethiopian political affairs to divert our focus on irrelevant
issues beyond the subject in discussion . Eritrean justice seekers have been demanding for international
world attention to the plight of our people . And we can not ignore Ethiopian people demands for their
right and their struggle against injustices inside the country .
USA government decision to stop Yemane monkey activities inside their land could be retaliation for
HGDF policy that restrict movement of foreigners inside Eritrea . The same way HGDF treat people
under strict authoritarian rule , I guess it looks pay back reaction .
    But the question is ;
For what reason the state department issued visa for these two high rank officials ?
Did they come for official visit to meet with government officials ? It sounds insane but hey we know
    politics play dirty tricks .

    • TeAzabi October 5, 2016

Did they play dirty politics when they (your muslim Arabs) dumped you on to Eritrea & Ethiopia?
Were you playing in dirty muslim Arab politics when you were fighting for your criminal corrupt Islam ELF shifta/banditry then? Too illiterate and too ignorant to know how you are messed up for life. Your poisonous and damaged types should just stay away in their broken evil cages/holes so that the young innocent Eritreans are not contaminated by your evil poisons.
Why are on assenna 24/7, what are you really supposed to be fighting or is just a case/fact that you have ABSOLUTELY nothing important (like family, work, children & any hobby) to do or concentrate on apart from your usual ignorant KOLO TITKO habes kedes slaves scribbles.

      • AHMED SALEH !!! October 5, 2016

You can scream day and night ELF shifta , Muslim arabs but at the end Eritrean
and Ethiopian people find you guilty of dirty politics conspiracy for committing
crimes against humanity . The blood of thousands innocent lives will hold you
responsible for defending the criminality of your masters .

        PH
First of all to comment about Ethiopia in our forum irritate some suspicious guests.
This Arab – Muslims rhetoric is not in Eritrean book either be supporter or opponent
of HGDF regime but we can observe inside Weyane propaganda machine media
outlets . Once we identify the source of this hazardous mentality that is destroying
their country , we have nothing to say but to let them get what they are asking for .
Who the hell he think he is to fool me by portraying as Eritrean national . He can’t
talk and walk as blue blood Eritrean . That is why he come with same provocative
languages by hiding under various nicknames . The sad part we are facing two
arrogant and antagonist products of HGDF-WEYANE corrupted leadership ( I said
leadership ) . Freedom start the bell to ring somewhere close to home and these two goons forget people’s power can bring down a mountain . .

If the dictator does not believe in democracy how come they claim to be advocates of democracy and not advocate it for their countrymen?? These are strange people indeed!!

Monkey, a pathological liar, is higdef whose musk removed. Renting asseb to Saudi gave it utmost confidence that it could not get from Eritreans to the extent of calling our heros who are suffering in dangeons criminals. Well, monkey, u are now exposed and naked and count your days only. Saudis will not save u from eritrean rage that is inevitable.

We Eritreans in the US want to see these guys (and their boss, the monster in Asmara) in .the floors of The Hague Court for their trial; not see them to try to convince us that they are HIZBAWIAN.
You bastards can not cheat us for ever. Enough is Enough.
Shame on the puppets of this African North Korean regime. Shame on especially the selfish Eritreans in the diaspora who should stand by their people instead.

God Bless the peace awaiting poor Eritreans!!!
