Woldesus Amar affirms the impostor isaias afewerk had failed in his freshman year at the Haile Selase University and that he got a second chance to enroll again as a freshman. Amar also recalls that the impostor was denigrating the ELF as “jihadist” organization and the Eritrean population of the Lowland as cowardly Jelfafat but Amar denies that the impostor had any connection with the Ethiopian Security Apparatus, and justified the impostor’s use of big words like “jihad” by attributing to the Ethiopian radio and written propaganda used in Eritrea at the time.

Amaniel ought to have pursued him by asking him about the possible causes that led to the impostor not only to fail his freshman year but also to get a second chance to enroll, and …….because Amar expressed his intimate knowledge of the impostor life at the University….. whether or not the impostor’s attendance was complete, was studying hard, submitting his term papers on time etc? I am convinced that he failed because he was at the same time being trained by the Ethiopian security Apparatus on how to dismantle ELF from within.

The impostor isaias afewerk is very important person because of the horrific devastation he has brought on our country and people. The Eritrean people deserve to know every detail about him from people who knows him before it is too late. I am sad to say that I found Woldesus Amar disingenuous and extremely reluctant to divulge the truth. Amaniel Eyassu, ought to have held him to account. He should never have been easy on him.

An excellent interview.  Woldeyesus is a brilliant and knowledgeable person. We need to have a follow-up interview with him about many things that needed the journalist to ask but did not. He justed whetted our appetite for more, including asking him to ask to explain and deepen our understanding of Eritrean history and figures in early nationalism in Eritrea. For example, Woldeyesus talked about the two parties in Keren, Moslem League, and Pro Italian party. What were these parties, what did they stand for, who run them in Keren? He mentioned Ibrahim Sultan, Weldeab Woldemariam, Idris Mohammed Adem, Abdela Idris, and Osman Sabbe. What were they like in person, what were their thoughts and priorities concerning politics in Eritrea? How did he meet them? And more and more. So many gaps in our history we need to hear from knowledgeable people such as Woldeyesus. I also hope Woldeyesus writes a book, in the form of a memoir to express his knowledge and interpretation fully.

Eritreans wouldn’t have been in this political predicament today, if rigid background & security checks were conducted early on during the struggle to screen every new recruit joining the struggle to make sure that only Ethnic Eritreans were joining the struggle.
Both outside and inside infiltrators (WMB) wouldn’t have been able to join the struggle, hijack the leadership and become chairman of the national assembly. In other words, we were duped twice, namely before and after independence. It is about time to admit the political blunders made in the past and draw bitter lesson from it, so that we can move on with objective clarity.
