Fires hit pro-[PFDJ] groups in Stockholm

Arson investigations have been launched into three fires that broke out near Stockholm in the early hours of Monday morning in three separate locations, all of which house organizations that sympathize with the regime in Eritrea. All the fires

Arson investigations have been launched into three fires that broke out near Stockholm in the early hours of Monday morning in three separate locations, all of which house organizations that sympathize with the regime in Eritrea.

All the fires broke out within hours of one another, with emergency services first getting a call shortly after 1am about a fire in Högdalen south of Stockholm.

A second fire was reported in Solna, just north of the city, around 2.30am, followed thirty minutes later by reports of a third fire in Husby, also north of central Stockholm.

More than 50 people were evacuated from their homes as a result of the fires, which were eventually brought under control thanks to the efforts of dozens of firefighters.

The fires all erupted in offices housing organizations that support the regime in Eritrea, the TT news agency reported, although no representatives from the organizations were willing to be quoted by name about the incidents.

However, one person active in the Husby-based organization who wished to remain anonymous due to fears of reprisals said he was “100 percent certain” the fires were “political”.

“It’s those damn traitors who are behind this,” he told TT, referring to Eritrean-Swedes who “hate their country” and often demonstrate against events organized in support of the current Eritrean regime.

Tensions have been running high between groups loyal to the Eritrean government and those critical of the regime of Eritrean president Isaias Afewerki.

When pro-regime actions are held in Sweden, opposition groups often stage counter-demonstrations, according to TT.

Regime critics in turn often blame the Eritrean authorities for engaging in threats and blackmail in order to squeeze tax money from Eritreans in exile.

Preliminary investigations into arson have been opened for all three fires, with police confirming that the Husby and Högdalen blazes were intentionally set, while forensic teams continue to investigate the scene of the fire in Solna.

However, police have refrained from confirming that the fires are connected.

“In Högdalen, the fire broke out in a building that houses an Eritrean organization, as well as several other companies. As far as I know, there is no connection to the fire in a laundry room in Husby. We’re obviously looking into any connection, but for the moment we don’t see one,” police spokesman Mats Eriksson told the Dagens Nyheter (DN) newspaper.

Swedish-Eritrean MP Arhe Hamednaca, who is critical of the authoritarian regime in Eritrea, told TT he doesn’t think the Eritrean democratic opposition is responsible.

“It could be a group siding with the government that wants to drag the opposition through the mud; they’re known for doing that,” he told TT.

He explained that supporters of the regime are desperate following an uprising among troops in Eritrea that took place about a month ago as well as recent reports in the Swedish media about how the regime has been threatening Eritreans in Sweden.

Last week, three people were arrested in Stockholm on suspicion of blackmail and conspiring to commit murder in a case believed to be connected to the Eritrean regime’s systematic oppression of Eritreans living in exile.

Offices those are used by mafia regime and their puppets which we hear that are set on fire. I think this is the best news as much as I am concerned. The dictatorial regime is killing real people who hopes to survive and want to have future. By executing evil agenda, the regime has made impossible to all citizens living and outside of our country. We see our brothers and sisters drowning in the oceans of Libya and deserts of Sinai.

Dawit Issac is still detained and we don’t know if he is still alive or dead. So many brothers and sisters (human being and not houses) are dying by the supporters including the employees, followers and 2% collectors of the regime in Sweden. Surprisingly asking for the Swedish law to be applied up on those who set a fire to these houses owned by a bunch of killers is puzzling. I am really amused to see the comments posted in the government supporters website such as meskerem.net and others.. They chose to keep quite while everything back home is set to flames; and our citizens back home are deprived of any basic human rights. Even, the right to live peacefully without force is being imposition on them. The mafia regime has made sure even self body is rented and can be killed or sent to a military camp to serve or slave for the regime. If that is not irony and what is it then??

    Pro & Against
    1. However, one person active in the Husby-based organization… “political”.

“It’s those damn traitors who are behind this,” he told TT,…“hate their country” …..

2.Swedish-Eritrean MP Arhe Hamednaca, who is critical of the authoritarian regime in Eritrea, told TT he doesn’t think the Eritrean democratic opposition is responsible.

“It could be a group siding with the government that wants to drag the opposition through the mud; they’re known for doing that,” he told TT.

Why would they both want to speculate at this time?,leave it to the investigation unless you have seen it happen which makes you a WITNESS or CULPRIT.

    Zey’keni Ayiweled.
While our people are suffering from shortage of doctors and medical equipment’s, see below what our neighbors to the south are doing….

Diaspora doctors to open specialized hospital in Addis

Addis Ababa, February 22 (WIC) — The Ethio-American Doctors Group (EADG), an association of more than150 Ethiopian doctors living abroad, are set to establish an 800 million birr specialized hospital in Addis Ababa.

The hospital will comprise of more than 27 medical specialties and also house a medical school and a research center, Dr. Henock G. Zabher, vice president of EADG, announced at a press conference here on Thursday, February 21, 2013.

“The hospital will offer state-of-the-art medical treatment meeting international standard that will lead to gaining accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI),” Dr Henock said.

Dr. Henock added a 30,000 sqm land in CMC area has been granted to EADG by the Addis Ababa City Administration.

“We have identified priority areas and we believe the services we offer are much needed here,” Dr Yonas Legesse, Representatives of EADG in Europe, said. “Our services include vascular surgery, urology, pulmonology, neuro-surgery and reproductive endocrinology,” he said.

Dr. Yonas said EADG fund has been set up, which will set aside 10 percent of the hospital’s profit, to cover for people who cannot afford to pay for the service.

Many Ethiopians travel abroad for medical treatments and the group, by providing the service in Ethiopia, hopes to reduce the number of Ethiopians seeking medical services abroad and thereby save hard currency.

“We not only expect to reduce the number of Ethiopians seeking medical services abroad but also expect patients from neighboring countries to come here as there aren’t many hospitals like this in Africa,” Dr. Girma Tefera, vice president and chair of board of directors of EADG, said.

EADG expects to start ground works within six months and the hospital is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.

“We are currently undertaking design works that would meet JCI standards,” Dr. Girma said.
Initially, the hospital will employ over 300 people, of whom 50 are physicians.

Do you know how many Ethiopians sacrificed so that that hospital could be used by both Peoples. My pray goes to both eritreans and ethiopians who sacrificed themselves in the effort of trying a United Ethiopia including Eritrea.
