Urban folk singer FETSUM was born in Egypt to Eritrean parents and grew up in Italy and Germany, where he currently lives.

His songs – which combine traditional African rhythms with soul, reggae, folk and rock – bear testimony to that mix of experiences.

He sang one of them, Waitin’ for You, from his album The Colors of Hope, accompanied by guitarist Leon Schurz, for the BBC’s Focus on Africa.

And he told presenter Komla Dumor more about his life and music.

Great person with positive attitude . In his interview with
BBC he stated that we may differ by thought but not by
nature . Like the late singer John Lenon song ; ” GIVE PEACE A CHANCE ” , our brother Fezum is promoting
for unity and peace inside our country and beyond with
    neighbors .
I wish him success and recognition at higher level for
    his talent .

Wodi- Vacaro that has brought positive wind of change, it seems starts to restore the former Eritrean with dignity and proud filled positive image that has Isayas stolen and buried . this is why like the bible says; It is nice to see wonderful decent, intelligent, competent human citizens like Wodi Vacaro, Kibrom Dafla, Wodi Tikabo, and now this singer Fitsum Sebhatu. Little by little; Eritrea is on a way smelling Eritrea, when the hidden decent citizens becoming on forefront that is known in former good time.
The bible says; “When good men come to power, everybody celebrates, but when bad men rule;like wicked Isayas people stay in hiding. (Proverbs, 28; 12, and 28)
