PIA Gets Depreciated, Opposition Fails to be Appreciated!

____________________________

Change is inevitable in Eritrea either evolutionary or revolutionary as the Government of Eritrea fails to tackle the growing national problems; and aggressively turns against justice and its people. The crisis in Eritrea moves worse into worst in which the citizens cannot live properly, fairly and freely. The aged and incapacitated government officials remain silent and obedient to President of Issias Afeworki who is still conceived as a “divine leader” in the eyes of many pro-government supporters though the critical and influential leaders are either in freeze or ended up in jail without trial and bail.

President Issias Afeworki increasingly loses political, legal and moral legitimacy, but the griping power never stops as far as the national struggle for democratization is turning into ethnic, religious and regional politics without instigating the grassroots of the problems that demolish the country. Currently, Eritreans are badly divided increasingly by egoism, hypocrisy, opportunism, region, religion and ethnicity though PIA gets depreciated:

Is there any beauty about PIA?

No. Indicators

Good Leader President Issias Afeworki
1 Personality Passionate, tolerant, cooperative, considerate, decent, rational Arrogant, aggressive, haughty, hot tempered, emotional, selfish
2 Intellectualism Respects inputs of intellectuals Anti intellectuals and never tolerates diversity of ideas
3 Ability Based on team work with institutional support Personalized all institutions undermining the knowledge, skills and values of others
4 Responsibility Accepts its weakness and works for better future Ignore to take responsibility for his setbacks accusing as conspiracy of USA and TPLF
5 Relationship Diplomatic and dynamic Aggressive, rigid and isolated
6 Dynamism Open to new and out-of-the box ideas Rigid and offensive to new ideas and thoughts
7 Criticism Gives and takes Never tolerates and accepts
8 Opportunity Creates for others Blocks or destroys
9 Rectification Willing to learn from mistakes Unwilling to learn from past experience (error replaced by another error)
10 System Open, interactive and smooth Closed, bureaucratic and Complex
11 Balanced assessment Focused on weakness and strength equally to make a rational decision Exaggerated strengths mainly for temporary public consumption
12 Styles of governance Encourage performance, differences and innovation Gives order, and kills independent thinking and innovation
13 Power transfer Cultivate and encourage new leaders Discourage and oppress new leaders

The political elites, who are intentionally instilling the political tectonic and rifts for their cause, are partially responsible for elongating the life span of the despotic and unjust government, and the possible chaos that could emerge during transition from autocracy into democracy.

If research based ethnic or regional or religious discrimination or inequalities exist in Eritrea, it has to be presented faithfully, respectfully and appropriately in future democratic nation guided by constitution and rules of law. Unless we establish a democratic environment, it is futile to raise subordinate questions suspending potential national question that needs prioritization. Otherwise the struggle for change remains fragile, weak and ineffective, and fails to be appreciated.

Good article brother. Collecting the diverse elements of the resistance in centralized democratic direction is what is now missing, I think because the intellectual members of the society did not take the initiative to this effect.

    • asmara April 16, 2013

      Funny hat,

Common, anyone who reads that article can see the big contradiction. If you can let yourself tolerate all the trash the writer listed and managed to reach the end, this is what you find, the only thing that a sane, reasonable national would think and say:
“….it is futile to raise subordinate questions suspending potential national question that needs prioritization…….”

Then, what you will be left with is this: why on earth are these fools who love to call themselves as opposition, opposing in the first place? And if you have a brain you would answer your question so easily: the reason these people are doing what they are doing is:
      – Either they are sell outs
      – Hungry for power, and easy ride to power at the back of Woyanie (Eritrean people? who cares about the Eritrean people
      -Personal grudge
      – Vendetta
      – Some other personal issue
      – Stupidity.

These people were supposed to stand along their people and the government when it comes to national security and Eritrean unity, as it is something no one should gamble on. Then and only they do they oppose whatever they think is not happening domestic wise. Otherwise putting one’s nation at risk is not opposition

You people need to be true to yourself and to Eritrea

      • Adhanom April 16, 2013

        Dear Asmara,
According to my personal observation, most of Eritreans are proud of their identity though few citizens are involved in identity crisis because of a failed leadership and a failed system. Hope, you are free of such crisis. You do understand that any government comes and goes, but our people, our land and our identity are always there. No body can change them.

Some readers including you could not understand the core message of my article properly and deeply. When I am saying prioritized national question, it is normally the question of peace, the question of justice, the question of constitutional rights, the question of democratization, and the question of unity. These are the explicit national questions that click the mind of every Eritrean. With this conceptualization, we can develop a solid struggle to remove the autocracy from our beloved nation.

However, if our mind is occupied with SUBORDINATE QUESTIONS such as the question of religion, ethnicity, region, organizational and personal interests and like wise, it is naive to ignore that fact that the struggle will be remained less productive as what we witness currently.

What are our people benefited from the fragile and fragmented struggle against despotic leadership? Strictly speaking, I am not against of individual rights or minority rights, but we can raise only those subordinate questions when we establish a democratic ground in Eritrea. Otherwise, it will serve as engine for PIA to drive the truck of autocracy to whatever direction he likes. Self-assessment is very important for what we have done for more than decades in our struggle for change. We should accept our face what we see in front of the mirror. We do not need to do false appraisal in order to heal the bleeding wound.

        Thanks all for your comments!!

    Let us do it again:

“….it is futile to raise subordinate questions suspending potential national question that needs prioritization…….”

This is the core principle that the Eritrean people and the Eritrean government govern. Meaning, national questions, like national security, protection of sovereignty – and maintaining the unity and integrity of the Eritrean people – is the priority!

If this writer thinks this is a principle to be fallowed, it means he is thinking like the deki hizbi, and hence what he said about the honorable president doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

    Full stop

What part of the good leadership qualities that you don’t understand? Acording to your posting, either you are uneritrean (foreigner) in a mission to destroy eritrea and eritrean or an Eritrean man/woman effectively brainwashed by PFDJ operatives and who became the best dead zombie. You are the most desired product of the PFDJ operatives.

May be you need reorientation to the reality of our people. When you say “national security, protection of soverignty and manintaining the unity and integrity of the Eritrean people is the priority” When Eritrean are fleeing the country they love to the hands of human traffickers, there is no security. When Ethiopian are seating on our land, there is no full soverignty. When PFDJ operatives are accumulating capitals, our people are lining up on the street for rationed food, there is no unity. When the dictator and PFDJ are fracturing our unity destroying our culture; our people are being discarded as use and throw utensils, there is no integrity.

You said the “honorable president” It is an arony because his supporters would also say “honorable” I don’t know about that. Now, let us define “HONORABLE” HONEST, BLAMELES, CLEAN, CREDITEABLE, DECENT.(English dictionary). I am sure he himself would not belive that he is honorable. He knows that he is savage who killed his way up to the leadership position. We Eritrean will not buy the lame tactics of national security any longer. It got old, not credilbe argument any more. WAKE UP ERITREAN ZOMBIE OR GET LOST FOREIGNER.

  • Ghenet April 16, 2013

    Dear Adhanom,
For a change, revolutionary or evolutionary one, that you mention in this good article to happen, the opposition should be up to it.
The situation is ripe and things with the brutal regime are rotten from inside. Everyone including the HGDFITES are thinking how they get away scoot free from the mess they are willingly part of. However, we should not also undermine the cuniving/ murderous nature of our enemy.
However, the opposition does not seem to be solid. It seems that it is still wobbly. This includes all the youth associations in diaspora. We do not have leadership group. We have promising young people who can lead the people into democracy. What is really surprising though is that they do not stand up for the people to identify them and to depend on them. People in eritrea, are losing hope because they do not see clear leadership after IA. The opposition camp has to step up and improve its momentum. We can have different parties with different opinions but each party or group should have committed leadership with identifiable individuals. Members of the opposition camp may be many but we are not organised into a solid power.
Unfortunately what we hear and read is bickering and accusations etc. if we can not allow others to have a different opinion from ours and respect them, then how do we expect to lead the country into democracy?
Finally, Change in eritrea better come revolutionary otherwise, we are done as a nation.

Here is a “What if” analysis:

If and when the so called opposition (We call you ANW*, by the way):

    1) Start to make Eritrea and the Eritrean people first
    2) Stand for the protection of the sovereignty of Eritrea
    3) stand for the Unity of the Eritrean people
    4) Stop being instruments for foreign aggression
    5) Stand along their people and their government against a foreign aggressor
    6) Understand the simple logic that you cannot ripe what you did not saw. Meaning, you have to work hard and have to earn all the good things in life – including democracy, security and economic prosperity
    7) Realize that only the one who works is the one who makes mistakes. The one, who is sitting far away as an observer without doing his share, is useless for Eritrea.
    8) Realize, the border issue is settled legally, hence Woyanies existence on our soil is violation of sovereignty, hence all Eritreans, I mean all, SHOULD STAND AS ONE. For our sovereignty is precious
    9) realize that our nation was marching in the right direction before 1998, i.e – our constitution drafted, free press was in place, and all the good signs where showing – BEFORE IT WAS HYJACKED BY THE WOYANIE WAR.
    10) Realize that any government have the obligation to protect the national security
    11) Try to understand what it means and how an impossible task it is to work under the unjustified sanction, choking of any Economic activity you try to make – and still be able to run the county
    12) Understand the huge economic gap between the West and Eritrea; hence Eritreans are being purposely being lured to flow out of their nation
    13) realize that Eritreans are better off at home in Eritrea than flow out with the false excuse

WELL, IF YOU MANAGE TO DO ALL OF THE ABOVE THEN = YOU ARE PART OF THE ERITREAN PEOPLE=THEN YOU ARE THE SAME AS THE ERITREAN GOVERNMENT = THEY YOU ARE BASICALLY HGDF

CONCLUSION = NO FUCKEN REASON FOR OPPOSING

    End of “what if” analysis

    • Adhanom April 17, 2013

      Dear Asmara,

You are able to provide us a good analysis from different parameter that we should account, but it is very hard to concord with all points that you have mentioned, and undisciplined conclusion you threw irresponsibly (i.e. NO FUCKEN REASON FOR OPPOSING).

Certain points that you need to revise:

      1. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of Eritrea must be respected, if not what is your motive? If it is taboo to talk about that issue, you do not need to talk about the existence of Eritrea; and no way to speak out about Eritrean identity. In my eyes this is a national responsibility, not an individual assignment that can be suspended.

      2. National security and national interest should not be put in compromise for your personal ego or organizational interest. I totally disagree with your verdict presenting as HGDF’s motive or optimization. Because, I believe that PFDJ is going against our national interest and our national existence jailing, torturing and murdering our people; starving our people; pushing citizens to flee; destroying all our economic firms, degrading our educational quality; isolating us diplomatically and exerting social and psychological crisis. The Front is primarily involved in power gripping more than protecting the national interest and security and well being of our people. If you are not committed for your national interest, for what you are committed?

      3. The other issue that you ought to consider is that the BADME issue. Please, you have to differentiate the legal aspect from political orientation or games the you are involved in. The boarder conflict has been settled legally; and both countries must be governed and regulated by the final and binding agreements. Whatever political perspective you have about the conflict, you have no any right to break or manipulate the agreement. If we are opposing unjust regime which is against rules of law, you should no go against justice.

In my conclusion, we should be vigilant and critical enough to investigate what propaganda used by PFDJ to confuse or politicize our people and what real national interest we need to safeguard as true reformist. You have to understand there is no any free support coming from any side; the technique and wisdom is how to convert the opportunity into our national interest and national aspiration. Otherwise, you could not win mass support which is core force for healthy political transformation.

      Thank you!!

    Belay, Nega

You better call yourself Belay Cheleme not Nega…what is a national security without the people, what is sovereignty without people on the land. If PFDJ continue to stay in power for some years, then anyone can walk inside the country without any resistance because no one to defend the country. And people like you … I bet you will not go back to defend the country from any foreign occupation because you just want someone do the dirty job for you so you can sit on your comfort sofa and watch the TV Ere garbage and satisfy your ego. Come on ,,,you can’t fool the whole people for all time. Why should someone build roads for you so you can go with your family summer vacation to drive on those roads, who should young man at the age of 18 die for you for nonsense war , who should someone work in slavery type of work so you can talk proudly about Eritrea economical growth sitting on your couch? The young man in Sawa has a dream like you, to enjoy his teenager time like any teenager in the world. Eritrean people didn’t need GIFA round up to defend Eritrea…they used to come without call to defend their country, however if you use them as cannon fodder then they have the right to leave the country and go elsewhere to look for freedom or fight you back. Almost all decided to leave the country and it is the time for YPFDJ’s to go back and show solidarity for their father Adolf Isayas and defend the country from weyane or CIA. Three days meeting in Hilton Hotel cost you 1.3 million dollar when the young man who defend the country has hunger work with empty stomach…is it not enough for you? Or should I give you more to wake your sleepy brain.
