Dear Eritrean Justice Seekers:
Eritrea Focus (EF) collaborates with organisations that defend the right of Eritrean Refugees. Migrant Voice and Freedom United (One voice against MODERN SLAVERY) are two examples. Migrant voice has sent EF the message bellow in order to take action in commemoration of Refugee. EF and Freedom United – whose head office is in USA- has worked together – in distributing leaflets to visitors of the famous Chelsea Flower Show. The leaflet exposes the sponsor of the Flower Show M&G Investment is a shareholder of Nevsun Canadian Company in Eritrea and is a complicit in Human rights abuse in Eritrea.
Refugee Week starts on Monday 17 June. During that week, when we celebrate the lives of people who made it to safety, we at Migrant Voice also want to remember those who did not.
Since the start of 2019, more than 1,000 people have died as they tried to seek sanctuary, half of them in the Mediterranean (and those are just the deaths that have been recorded). As rescuing people at sea is increasingly criminalised across Europe, those numbers are set to rise further.
For Refugee Week, we at Migrant Voice are gathering people’s thoughts and calls to action to share these on social media and on our website.
Please send us your short response to one or both of these:
– Your thoughts/prayers for the people who have lost their lives seeking safety
– Your message to the governments of the world to address these problems
Send your response to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or post your response on Twitter or Facebook, tagging us (@MigrantVoiceUK) and using the hashtags #refugeeweek2019 and #generations.
Please send your response(s) by Friday 14 June.
And please share this call-out with your friends, family and networks. We want to gather as many responses as possible so we can send a powerful message to the world’s governments during this year’s Refugee Week.
