Merger of Eritrean Global Solidarity (EGS) and Eritreans for Facilitating National Dialogue (EFND)

We are pleased to announce the merger of EGS and EFND to form Eritrean Global Solidarity for National Dialogue (EGSND).

After a year of intensive dialogue and conversation, the two civic societies, the EFND & EGS met in Washington DC on March 10, 2018 to finalize the merger. Each presented the summation of their years of experience as a part of the reflection before moving forward to outline their vision, program, policy and protocol. Going forward both underscored the urgency of national responsibility and decided to fully merge to step up their efforts in 2018.

The significance of the unity between two civic societies advocating for democratic changes in Eritrea is immense. The current situation in Eritrea demands that our effort is focused toward eradicating the vestiges of tyranny in Eritrea. Thus, the measure taken by EGS and ENFD is a milestone in our civic struggle.

The members of the two organizations realized the synergistic value of their merger, given their common objective. The members agreed on the new name, the constitution, mission statement and organizational structure of the new organization.

The only merger urgently needed to save Eritreans is the merger of Eritrea & Ethiopia as one Christian country. Period

Do this people ever know Shame? it is tragic indeed to see Eritrea’s fate depends on these pathetic individuals who had already lost their cognitive abilities. Before when I did not know enough about their problem, I used to literally cry for them, but now they become a laughing stock for me and others who are tired and sick of them, when ever i read their absurdity it makes me crack a smile and chuckle alone.

Please read this blustering language” The significance of the unity between two civic societies advocating for democratic changes in Eritrea is immense.”

I wonder if Amanuel Sahle has ever reached them out and splashed some his remedies. Eritreans, if we can please lets just help and support Elsa Chrum, thanks to her, she is the only hope for Eritreans, she is doing terrific jobs.

We hear so many mergers but not the end products that will challenge or remove DIA from power.

Because divorse follows the following day. We do not have many genuine ones like wedi vacaro who are prime examples of unity with cause.

Subject: Release March 16, 2018 Merger of Eritrean Global Solidarity (EGS) and Eritreans for Facilitating National Dialogue (EFND) [www.archive.assenna.com]

I Congratulation is in order. I wish to express my good wishes to the merger of the two long-standing sociopolitical entities [EGS and EFND] for the benefit of the whole of Eritrea. It has always been a mystery to me why Eritreans in diaspora would have eighty (80) to ninety (90) opposition sociopolitical parties, safely secured in foreign countries. Is it, as the Tigrigna wisdom goes, ፈራሕ፡ ዓሰርተ በትሩ? Or, is it ዓቕሊ ጽበት? Or, is it a pass time leisure activity in a secured environment? Or is it the glaring proof of dysfunctional Eritrean society [where ever they migrate] based on religion, region, racism, tribalism, pigmentation of the skin, physical traits and other multitude traits? In any case, [regardless of my sad negative (yes, negative) feeling] I sincerely wish the new merger of EGS-EFND GOOD LUCK in their endeavour. With that, let me pass on to an interesting commentary made by a Reader.

II. Reaction to Gedamu’s opinion about “the merger of Eritrea & Ethiopia” It is a dynamite. It is a daring and admirable proposal. The subject matter is loaded with emotion as opposed to rational thinking for the benefit of the society. But I hasten to add that in a FREE and DEMOCRATIC countries such a proposal would not be strange at all, nor a revolutionary idea. In Eritrea, on the other hand, and for that matter in the entire Continent of Africa where disintegration is a way of Life, the suggestion will invite upheaval – even to those individuals who are exposed to the Western civilization and ways of thinking. To put it bluntly – and limiting it to our own affairs – Eritreans are hopelessly emotional people no matter how many years we have been living in the Western Hemisphere. So, against that background, I suggest, we have to be very careful in handling the delicate issue of sovereignty. The structure of Eritrea is built in such a way that pulling a ‘brick’ would cause a catastrophe to the entire sociological structure. It may very well end up being so; but no need to push it.

Let us also touch the other side of Gedamu’s suggestion i.e. what would be the reaction of Ethiopia? It is my firm opinion that within the present day environment, Ethiopia wouldn’t want to touch Eritrea by the longest pole vault rod on Earth. Ethiopia has a huge problem at hand to be bothered by another disease. In Tigrigna language there is a dreadful contagious disease called ጨለውታ. It is said that a person inflicted with that disease will be quarantined in a shack, completely isolated from society. Food is given to the patient using a very long wooden slab through a small hole in the hut. Dear Eritrean Compatriots: Please understand my natural freedom to express my opinion that at this point in time Eritrea is a carrier of a contagious disease ጨለውታ and Ethiopia would not want to be anywhere near that ‘patient’ with such dreadful disease. It is understandable concern. Ethiopia itself is in a serious internal upheaval (1) without adding external genocidal problem. By the way, this is a perfect natural development of confusion, disorder and diversion to those Eritreans who see Ethiopia as long-standing obstacle to their long-cherished dream of geopolitical alignment with specific foreign entities based on that destructive phenomenon known as RELIGION. THE END

Footnote: (1) In my humble opinion [NOT a Scholar], I say it is for the better future of Ethiopia!!! Why? Let me explain from layman’s prism. Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, the King of Kings, the Elect of God, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah was the epitome Master, Lord and Symbol of the Amhara Aristocratic Society — making the Oromos, the Tigraians, and the other Southern Communities as second class citizens. Let me not mince words. Thanks to the Tigraian Liberation Front, Ethiopia is now being a country for ALL its constituents, tuned to its natural characteristic of multi ethnic societal country. The PROOF is what we see i.e. the free demonstration that we see in the country – a phenomenon that had no place under the absolute monarchy of Haile Selassie & the Amhara Society WARNING: I am NOT saying TPLF is an Angel Organization. They have a lot to be criticized about, critically. But the historical fact remains that they are the SAVIOR of Ethiopia from being a permanent domain of ARISTOCRACY. It is a monumental achievement that can never be reversed. Call me the classical IDIOT.

Guess what will be the fate of this ” new merger”? An assault from the so called Trojan Horse Muslim brotherhoods will be unleashed. Their label will be “rubber stamps of PFDJ” for the simple fact that out of these nine board members only one is a Muslim. Alas, ” opposition camp”, you will be back to square one by very soon by the 80 years old tactic of the Eritrean Muslim brotherhood. And this ” merger” will drink from this gobble very soon.

The JanJawid in Sudan obey Europe and terrorize civilians on the borders with Eritrea

Residents and leaders of the state of Kassala, in Sudan, are tired of the presence of the Rapid Support Forces (the new name given to the janjawids), and have again asked the government to withdraw as soon as possible. The umpteenth request was sent to Khartoum after the arrival in the homonymous capital of Mohamed Hamdan ‘Hemeti’, commander of the RSF, for an inspection.

Abdallah Musa , a civilian leader of the area, told reporters from Radio Dabanga, a well-informed broadcaster that broadcasts Europe, that since their arrival, paramilitaries have started killing residents during attacks on local communities. “They are the nightmare of our people, they cause panic everywhere, under the guise of involvement in illicit trafficking and trafficking in human beings,” Abdallah said.

In addition to the fearsome Janjawids , a contingent from the central police force reserve has also been present in Kassala since early February. …
