Hundreds of Eritreans gathered on Saturday night to a party in the town hall Dietikon. When a group of strangers to hard dazustiess, there were wild brawls. Nine people were injured, several arrested.

Several fights in Dietikon and a large deployment of Zurich cantonal police – as the organizer of a festival Eritrea have not presented their cause. Hundreds of visitors were expected on Saturday night at the Stadthalle Dietikon. Many festival-goers were already in place shortly after 18 clock when another group of strangers joined to.

A short time later it came between the fixed and participants of this group to a brawl that resulted in several injuries. When the Canton police intervened, some people fled towards the city center Dietikon where it was then in different places at other fights. The police, who had been with a bigger squad in action, had to summon up more patrols to bring the situation under control. Nine injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals. In addition, the police arrested several parties and handed over to the prosecutor.

The background to the conflict are at the moment not yet known how the Zurich cantonal police announced. The ceremony was then restarted, but the police kept the environment in mind all night.
As a spokesman for the State Police said the surveys are not yet complete. One can therefore not give any information about the background of the attack. But be sure that a racially motivated attack could be excluded.

«Eritrean thugs financed from Ethiopia»

According to an eyewitness, there were Eritreans who were at each other mutually. Not an isolated case: Time and again in Switzerland skirmishes between pro-government and anti-government groups. The SRF reported in 2012 even by government spies disguised as asylum seekers who collect protection money from local Eritreans. According to Toni Locher, Honorary Consul of Eritrea, it should be the perpetrators of Dietikon an Eritrean thugs who would be financed from Ethiopia. “Since 2008, this group attempted to disrupt all major Eritrean events in Switzerland,” says Locher, who was also on site. “They attacked even women and children.”

Also when Dietikon station there were several skirmishes, in which Eritreans were involved. (Picture: 20 minutes / reader-reporter)

Dear fighters for democracy: please for the sake of our struggle to safe our people from complete destruction and to assure freedom, justice and all sided development in our country Eritrea, stop replying to those who insult individual people rather than constructively correct ideas and actions. Agame is a province in Tigray, Ethiopian. However, we have been using the term negatively which is discrimination. But most of us, we use the term as a habit with no intention to hurt others. However, as long as it sounded discriminatory we need to avoid the term. This message is to all of us who use this term as insult. ”kibur yekbreka meten nebsu hisur yehsreka meten nebsu.” we all Eritrean need to respect each other and respect others regardless of our differences in age, ethnicity, political point of view, religion, gender, race and disability. I call every Eritrean to take initiative to help our brothers who lacked the knowledge or experience on how to display their ideas and criticism in public in a constructive way. A true struggle that stands to avoid mass oppression is must to win!

The only way out of this mess is to make every citizen a police. We should all be aware of who is doing what.

  • salahadin June 3, 2013

Good job but, the Eritreans should take the responsibility and defend it legally by going to the court for their rights. This is purely a youth movement against the dictatorship followers and yet not affected at all or just a blind YES MAN. They should know what they are doing and Suisse government should not entertain such Nazi-type followers.

    • Salih June 3, 2013

Now it is started. We Eritreans start to defend our self for those stupid AGAME. This is the beginning strong response to any kind of attack by the youth call KEDAAT.

Thank god the internet is not a festival place, otherwise we would have seen such fight every now and then. I always see this on the comments section of Assenna. After every article, there are comments, most of them not regarding the issue, but regarding the person who wrote the article or the person who wrote a comment, insulting him/her or calling him/her names. It is evident that those who do that need a civic lesson, but most of all the leaders on all parties have failed to lead their followers on this one.
One example of such leadership is “During the struggle for independence fighters were not allowed to shoot and kill an Ethiopian prisoner of War”, so leaders have a big role.
Another point is towards Assenna. Maybe a logistics problem or you want it that way I don’t know, but you have the responsibility and the power to stop such in-appropriate, or name calling comments from being posted, that way people will learn what is good and what is bad. After a long time that will sink in.
So please get civilized. Let us treat others the same way we wanted to be treated by others. No “He/She started it”, “It takes two to tango”. Just ignore the insults and stick to the issues, if he/she got no issues then don’t even bother to respond to the comment.

why do people go to street to fight? Ignorance. There is nothing you can do in the street of western countries other than expose your ignorance and be instrument of idiots.

The Swiss goverment should expel the embassy of Eritrea. For very understandable reasons : 1: The goverment of Eritrea drove out this young people from there own country and the goverment turned around extorting money from its own people 2: This goverment if can not listen its own citizen the remedy only is going invite violence violence violence period .
