We understand many young people attending the forthcoming YPFDJ conference in the UK are diaspora born young people whose parents think their involvement in this and other PFDJ related activities is beneficial. Here is our messages to those parents:
Every parent wants the best for their child/ren; we are sure that you too are only after the very best for your children, who are going to the YPFDJ summit in the UK, later on this week. However there are a few facts that you may want to take into consideration before you take the risk of sending your child. We ask you to seriously weigh the implications of your action, before you subject your children to this.
In previous years we have tried to warn against these meetings purely based on the political merits of supporting dictatorship, this year things are different, the polarisation in our community has reached a stage where it is not just political integrity that is at stake. The anger against the regime that has turned a blind eye and even collaborated in the heinous act of selling our brothers and sisters to the highest bidder has reached a level where we are not going to tolerate the wilful support to the regime by organisations such as YPFDJ. Your children’s involvement will have consequences!
Our brothers and sisters are having their organs stolen, after they have been tortured and raped as a way of extorting ransom, we are not going to tolerate your children dancing, over their graves ,and adding insult to our injury.
Our parents have been reduced to begging outside churches and mosques collecting ransom for their abducted children, we are not going to tolerate the regime paying for your children to have a luxury holiday.
Please don’t ignore this warning, the years of us looking in, in helpless desperation are over and enough is really enough! If you and your children think the trip to the UK is going to be a positive experience of pure enjoyment we ask you to really think again and consider whether the risk is worth taking.

I think we all need to be honest when we say the parents are not responsible for what is going on in eritrean. The ones who left eritrea before 1991 and did not go there since then, do not send their kids to PFDJ events. they must have a reason for not going. The article is for parent who support PFDJ. The one man you are talking about has been applauded for doing what he is doing and was assisted with the 2% these parents pay to have their people and country decimated to nothing. They are his accomplices and he hides behind them. they are even more responsible than his supporters in eritrea, because they (diaspora) know better and they know the taste of democracy. But then, eritrea is the place where some irresponsible and immoral women try to show of their riches (which is mostly from job centers allowances and child benefits) and show off in eritrea and brag at their fellow mothers and sisters. some men have promiscuous holidays in eritrea. Are we going to deny this happens and put it under the carpet, as we eritreans always do, to persuade them to join the opposition? No! No! they should join us with full insight and regret what they had done. Look where Hiding our problems has gotten us.
There is nothing wrong with going to eritrea to visit their families but to support what is going on there is a moral crime against humanity.

How individuals choose to act when they travel is not a reflection of those in the diaspora or YPFDJ/PFDJ who love their country. Neither is it of those who are “forced” to pay 2% (which includes all Eritreans, you too) to have a foothold in their own affairs. Please use logic when trying to make a point.

A country is a country because of its people. The land does not care which flag is being waved or what language is being spoken. It is Eritrean who make eritrea!! Eritrea exists because the people call it their land and protect it. When these people are in danger or become victims of anyone, then the concept or the land of eritrea is in danger and becomes a victim. So please go and preach somewhere about ‘those who love their country. They should love their people first. And do not talk about logic. you have no idea what it is.
By the way, I do not allow myself to be forced to pay 2% and I do not pay anyone who kills and mimes and enslaves my people. I use logic!

The question Is: Does the person denigrating members of the YPFDJ stand on higher moral ground with respect to the preservation and safeguard Eritrean Unity and Sovereignty?
The answer is categorically, No, because he left out the No.1 enemy of our country, woyane. Even if he had included the twin enemies, Woyane and Isaias Afewerqi, true Eritrean would never adopt the same method of struggle against the two, for against Isaias Afewerqi, the struggle will aim to expose, paralyze him and finally effectively preempt his conspiracy by raising the consciousness of every Eritrean. And there is nothing more potent a weapon than building hostile social consensus around him.
Against woyane however, one has to remember why Eritreans bore arms against Haile Selase regime, who in the beginning, the 50s, fooled our people as a person of goodwill but as soon as he got what he wanted, he uprooted every economic infrastructure in our country left by the fascists, undid the Sham Federation, replaced Tigrigna by Amhara as official language, burned Tigrigna books, closed down our cultural institutions imposing Amhara, systematically drew our people to Ethiopia in search of jobs and education, brought in Amhara, Tegaru and others with sinister intention of uprooting our population and replacing them. When Eritrea became independent almost half of the population of Asmera were Tegaru, and I might add, the richest.
Every Eritrean must always bear in mind that it is typical characteristic of alien forces to invade another country clad as people of goodwill ,and woyane profession of concern for Eritreans is just that, foxy concern. Deep in its inside however, it is the same covetous avarice Haile Selase had come for. Thus reject its foxy concern and false brotherhood, and if need be, defeat it using the kind of force we defeated Haile Selase.
The fact that Tegaru are not to be trusted is a proverbial expression in our country, of which Libi Tigrai Twi Tway is one among the many. Let me tell you what the woyanes are plotting against Afars lately.
As you probably are aware, the area of Afar, just like Eritrea but unlike the denuded and arid land of Tigrai, is endowed with huge mineral resources. The ever shameless and covetous woyane sent colonies of Tegaru disguised as workers of a its own company. The colonies were settled occupying big chunk of Afar territory. Before long , the tegaru colonies got together to demand that their colonies be recognized as independent region from Afar Administration. When the Afars opposed, woyane replied with dealy weapons.
It was in similar brutal fashion that woyane encorporated to tigrai huge land of Wollo, the fertile land of Alamata, and Gonder, the fertile land of Humera.
Just remember, the avaricious woyane has created more enemies than friends in the Horn of Africa, including in Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea. This was exactly what Hitler had earned for Germany. At the end of the day, Hitler had to burn himself when Germany was thoroughly defeated by the Allied Forces. Germany had to endure humiliation, prostration and division under the dictate of the victorious forces for long time. Tigrai is awaiting this very fate. Mark my words!!

You absolutely right on the Tegaru agenda. They try to have a fire among Eritreans by proposing thier ” Article 39 “version. why? They have hidden agenda to grab sea from Eritrean Afar. Because there is mineral ( i.e Potash ) in Eritrean Denkalia & Ethiopian Denkalia . The distance between the Dallol ,the site where has potash and Djbuti is above 600 km, where as it is less than 100 mile from Marsa Fatma. They already knew that it has no economical benefit to use the Djibouti new port.
The Woyane group are eager to have Marsa Fatma rather than Assab or Massawa because this location is very near from the mineral site as well as from Mekelle.
By proposing the concept of Federalism , they will try to annex that sea coast like they did in Northern Wollo or Eastern Gonder.

DIA is a lesser evil than Woyane. One day we can wipe out Isias & his group, but it is hard to ride out woyane’s junta once we allow them in to our politics. Remember some Eritreans believe that since Eritrea is a UN member,it is beyond the wicked agenda of woyane; that is folly. The truth is: there is no guarantor of our Sovereignty other other than we, the people.
Few misguided Eritreans trust woyane to hand over to them Eritrean Government. That is another folly. As we say, Kab Zb’es Atsmi. Historical as well as current evidences lends support to my assertion.
The underlying nature of woyane is treachery, avarice, bandtry etc. To this, add the fact that it is armed to the teeth. Would you trust any one with these natural characteristics and with that much fire power? …. only if you are extremely naive or hopeless.
These few naive Eritreans argue that if EPLFs could trust woyane and got away with it, they can….. This is childish argument which does not consider the objecvtive situations. They lack contextual thinking skills.
The reason EPLFs could trust woyane and got away with it was because the fire power was in their favor. And woyane had to comply out of necessity, out of fear, that is.
Wicked woyane tried its lack on EPLF in 1985 in the belief that the demise of ELF had turned the fire power in its favor. But had to kneel down to its creator and mentor, the EPLFs, after it was devestated by Dergi and the EPLFs watched as it was pounded real good. Woyane pleaded with the EPLFs to withdraw to Eritrea but the reply was a big NO!
When would you trust a wicked individual like woyane? Only when you are in a position to inflict deadly reprisal when it fails to fullfill its promise.

It does help no one to blame YPFDJ or their parent and just to create US Vs Them mentality. Why Assenna or other opposition sites invite & interview some of the regime’s supporters, listen their opinion, and try to convince them so that they can be attracted & even tell their friends & family to decant the PFDJ. Otherwise creating polarization won’t help the nation.
On the top of that we should connect & invite especially families & children of Eritrean authorities so that they can know the real situation & future peril of living under the brutal dictatorship.
Just Blaming or cursing doesn’t help. Besides to that we should draft a concrete strategy for practical actions in side the country against the dictator regime rather than spending time by insulting.

I do think neither these diaspora-born youngsters nor their parents know the consequences of their actions.I don’t even think they understand that they can be accountable for the predicament we are in. Let me tell you why. Most parents of the young PFDJ members are not educated. Those few educated are either opportunists or have regional feelings as they consider the Eritrean dictatorial regime as their own. So kicking their ass never brings any fruit let alone giving them warnings. And again most YPFDJ members don’t understand what is happening in Eritrea. The Sinai situation is a mantra to them because they don’t have any connection back home that make them sympathise with the ordeals of their peers. But there is one thing that we can talk with certainty, The young PFDJ cannot live under dictatorial regimes. Thus their number decreases dramatically year in year out especially after visiting Asmara. They always wonder why there is no election in Eritrea. If so, why do they go to YPFDJ conferences? For them it is a fun. For them it is a party. For them it is making love.Not politics! What ever happens in Eritrea they are dead sure they don’t come back even in the future. That is it.

Instead of scapegoating them we should do our homework.
What is the point to throw your finger in to YPFDJ and their parents? The situation in Eritrea is not created by those people. Whether those people supported or not, HIGDEF can be in power unless the people in home country start to resist.
Why the oppositions doing their homework- eliminate their difference & focus on their main goal, create connection in main land , draft resistance movement strategy & action plan rather than blaming & cursing YPFDJ now and then. YPFDJ are not critical interest group or stakeholders in Eritrean politics. HIGDEF are using them as a distraction factor ( i.e DIA is using them so that to divert from his internal politics. Above all they are fun group , searching thier nationality by associating with the Eritrean embassy & HIGDEF community. They eat, drink, partying & learning languages there in Embassy. Above that they are not the one who draft Eritrean policy or who torture Eritrean. They are not children of HIGDEF authorities, Generals, Colonels or Ministers. They don’t know any thing about Eritrea except dancing in Mekete, Bidho & YPFDJ festivals.
