Yemane is brilliant and committed guy and he has exposed Iseyas’s evil doctrine more than anyone else.He is big experience to the new generation. But a little concern is regarding the G-15 and other related people. I was a bit shocked to hear most of them were loyal to the evil activities—but that’s the truth!! I support your concerns regarding the current oppositions and your big concern about the flow of youngsters to neighboring countries like Ethiopia. The interview was interesting at all. Thanks and I appreciate you–long live.

  • Hazhaz November 29, 2014

    Dear Yemane,
Thank you for educating the young Eritrean generation about part of the Ghedli history that you witnessed. Your impact in re-educating the Eritrean public on Ghedli history and in filling some of the voids in history will be long remembered.
Though you still have some nostalgic attachment to Ghedli and think it was worthy all the sacrifice that I do not share or agree with your views; I still have a lot of respect to your courage to talk. To me, Ghedli is history and nothing good will come out of it after all the sacrifice paid, because it was too short sighted to defend and protect Eritrean’s historical and cultural interests, including its heritage, identity and languages.
To my surprise, from your interview, you may even be one of my 4th generation relatives. This is not new in Eritrea, it is a very small country with densely populated and long history in Kebesa and with many people such as the Tigre, Bilen and Saho that migrated from, to the low lands. It is not only you who still believe in Ghedli. I do have my own brothers and sisters who think Ghedli was the good thing that had happened to Eritrea. Therefore, I want to correct your previous statement, those of us who oppose the mission of Ghedli but not tegadelti are not “Tigrayans or Ethiopians”; we are Eritreans with the best interest of the people of Eritrea, no less than yours. History will prove me and many like me right that the worst thing that had happened to Eritrea after colonization under Fascist Italians was Ghedli.

    Gezae wrote,

“Aregash Melke is not from Akeleguzay … ADEGBAY TSILIMA DIBARWA/ZOBA DEBUB.”

You are right; it in Neus-Zoba Dubarwa and the right traditional and historical name, based on Higi Endaba is — Logo Chewa. I remember visiting the small village of Adegbay perched on a small hill north of the Tsilima valley, a few years back, on a funeral of my father’s respected family friend, as is customary I attended on behalf of my dad because he had other family function to attend. I also remember her father Col Melke, a strong physically imposing and feisty jocular man who was a friend of my grand father and his son Mulughta, a friend and classmate of my eldest brother, was an ELF fedyeen in the mid 1970s.

Are there doubters out there still who would do call me ” rootless, Tigrayan and Agame” to root me out of my deqebat status and Adi? To tell you the truth, relative to our aimless Ghedli, it was our Tigrayan brothers and sisters who benefited immensely from Ghedli and used it to change the Horn of Africa and their own lives. Therefore, I am proud to be an honourable citizen of “Tigrayan and Agame”. Who would not be in one of these miserable days? After all, aren’t they the one building the largest hydro electric power dam and impressive man made lake on the mighty Abay river in Africa? while poor Issaias, instead of sitting in Addis and shaping the entire Horn of Africa with all its natural and human resources, he is wasting his days and nights sleeping and guarding a micro-dam in Adi Halo, Zoba Debub on a small Summer stream? 🙂

    Dear Yemane,
If you plan to write a book, I would urge you to collaborate with the ever capable, hard working and professional ato Amanuel Eyasu, provided that he has some respite and time from his busy schedule.

    • Kissanet November 29, 2014

I believe that the bad situation we are hooked in right now can bring anyone to various retrospective views concerning Ghedli. We surely are in a miserable shape of our own making and we will have a long way to get this mess amended.
I don’t know to which generation you belong and I don’t know if you are willing to realize the factors that brought about Ghedli and the attrocities committed by the Ethiopian soldiers in the 60th when cottages of the poor folks in the lowlands were being burnt, when innocent guys were being hung every thursday and saturday in an open market in Edagahamus, when demonstrating students were being tortured in prisons, when Eritreans in higher offices were being substituted by Amharas, when brilliant Eritreans were being deprived of joining the university only because Amharic was taken as a compulsory subject, and many other brutal acts and subtle intrigues which used to discriminate Eritreans in their own country. I don’t know your alternative option to challenge this humiliation but Ghedli came as the only inevitable option. With all its setbacks Ghedli has at least accomplished its mission and brought Eritrea back to Eritreans. Was it worth it ? One can say yes or no depending on ones sense of judgement. But that doesn’t change anything to the fact that Ghedli was an inevitable choice and it doesn’t change anything to the fact that Eritrea is now an internationally recognized sovereign state. There is no way back. This is also the main reason why Weyanes had to deport thousands of Eritreans back to their country. An Eritrean by birth who feels like Ethiopian has a place to go and enjoy the new bridges and roads of Addis but he can never speak for Eritrea at the same time. Do you know the saying “ab kilte Tsahli miblae’ ‘ to enjoy eating from 2 different pots’ ? I am sorry to say but this is exactly how I understand your point of view.

      • Eritreawit November 29, 2014

        Kissanet.
People like Hazhaz ( i would call them pro Andenet) can go right now and be Ethiopian. It is easy. I was brought up in Ethiopia; we Eritreans were productive part of the society, respected also. The lie we were tought as our people in Eritrea were (YENAT TUT NEKASH, DILDEY Afrach, Wenbedy, THEY NEVER MENTION IN SCHOOL ERITREA WAS A FREE NATION THAT ANIXED BY HILESILASSE ) while our Enginners were building the coutry’s bridges and teaching the unversity/highschools still we were not to be trusted. So you Andenet lovers, We are Eritreans, we will stay Eritreans.

        • Hagherawi November 29, 2014

          Teclay is Ethiopian by choice.
People like him are very few, and probably are motivated by personal vendetta or a misplaced anger. Indigenous Eritreans may not agree with ELF or EPLF but are proud of their identity. Obviosely the country comes first. If you are trying to wipe then .. well .. only an enemy does that.
Even those who were Unionists and served Ethiopia in good faith, realized later on that in the eyes of the ruling elites, no matter how best they tried to be assimilated in their culture,
could not escape the fact that in the end they were Eritreans.
Some one who hates his country cannot be a normal person.
Eritrea is there to remain forever free and hopefully prosperous when the regime of the ‘Monkeys’ is gone for good.

  • Dante November 29, 2014

    Yemane,
Better late than never but as you were part and parcel of the criminal Ghedli that has no guts to acknowledge the miseries and shames befalling Eritreans, you shouldn’t now act like a new born Saint from Germany. Your struggle (“Miracle & Magic” liberation movement) to separate Eritrea from Ethiopia was to have our democratic administration, not to take our Eritrea to Mars! What is then to have a nation that suffers more than Haileslassie’s or Mengistus era? Nothing at all. If national freedom was a transit to build a democratic nation then let’s go from this current nonsense situation by removing PFDJ. If not then we are failed state like our Libyan & Somalian brothers who were also under Italy although”we are supposed to be better”!!!!! Staying under your PFDJ for this long years, reinforces the idea of the world that says we can’t manage a nation. In short Mr Yemane, your kind of “kemish Adey hanquiluni” crap politics doesn’t work anymore with our brilliant but unfortunate young generation. Lastly, your failed and twisted old generation are “bsenki ngutz yneded rHus”, yes indeed, because of you lot (ngutzat/dryed ones) our young and old people rHusat and mesakin) are burning and dying alive up to now. God bless the oppressed masses of the world.

    • Eritreawit November 29, 2014

      Dante,
you are funny, talk for your self. who gave you the right to represent the Eritrean youth. you have to know there are young generations who taking after our Tegadelti like Yeman/ Amanuel Eyassu, and sivilians like WEDI Vacaro/ (R.I.P) served the cause to FREE ERITREA get it, hijacked by crule dictatorial regime yes, but still we will not take all the sucrfices made by our people for noting. NO WAY NO, ANDENT. NOT NOW.

        • AHMED SALEH !!! November 29, 2014

          Eritrawit
Our current situation invited outside forces to maneuver
at Eritrean national politics mainly the old Weyane agenda
of Tigray-tigrigni elements and few sold supporters .
The opposition must recognize the dangers ahead the country
might face from their failure to unite the country because
the weak tendencies based on religion , region and ethnicity
could benefit outsiders on the long run . And our people in
general should exercise vigilant approach not to fell victims
          of arrogance .
Ideas and arguments to dishonor Ghedli Eritrea legacy we start
to observe has a root cause behind it which we shouldn’t have
          to minimize it’s threat .

  • Marta Kidane November 29, 2014

Thank you brother Yemane. Very well said my brother/sister Dante, you truly expressed all my feelings beautifully.
Brother/Sister Dante, to use your timely expression of “bsenki ngutz ynedid rHus”, (live wood burns because of its proximity to deadwood). And unfortunately, because of these so-called our liberators our Eritrean brothers & sisters are burning and dying everywhere in the sea or in the hell land.
Mr Yemane, I have one question for you and that is according to your own admission on Part 17, you arrogantly mentioned about the German Police asking you if you’er a ‘womanizer’. Now, please could you tell us (hopefully in your next/future book) how many innocent tegadelti sisters/girls you raped with your criminal organization? I suppose as a senior and member of the secret selfi you’er spoiled for choices! May God bless my beautiful Eritrea with all her beautiful and innocent/gerhi people.

  • Kissanet November 29, 2014

We have enjoyed the excursion through the stunning details of Ghedli and the breathtaking stories behind its underground operations.
Every Tegadalai with a long time service has a story of his own to tell but this one is one of its kind as we pobably wouldn’t have come across without Yemane’s couragious testimony.
Thank you and good luck Yemane !
I hope a day will come when the country you have fought for will have its doors wide open for you so that you can walk in and out safely. Asmara is still a beautiful city and you will see it one day..

  • Halengi November 29, 2014

      Selam all,

As: “”God bless you all who are striving to end the death and destruction that DIA and his PFDJ regime of death and destruction are meting out against the Eritrean people”

I think Stefanos is responding to Noble Teacher and not to Yemane. At least that is how I read it.

          Thank you Delay Fthi
I should ask appology to Estifanos. “Sorry Estifanos if it is not your idea!” The answer now is directing to Nobl Teacher.
