    Dear Amanuel Eyasu.

Perhaps the bizarre aspect of the Eritrean reality is captured when the camera-man zoomed-in onto the smiling face of the little girl as her mother finished saying “I am happy, I am happy” on the background. As you have aptly put it in your narratives, we are all elated the fact that the young woman and her little children made it to safety as they traversed through the at times merciless waves of the ocean. Deep into the cleavage of the moment of euphoria however, we see a pattern, a pattern which is surreal and unreal. Here is the deal: the young mother with her children will most probably be granted an asylum either in the Scandinavian countries or in Northern Europe and she will invest in the education of her children to have a better future. As her children come of age however, there will be a challenging times where their mother will try to make a connection to their Eritrean culture lest they get lost in a multicultural society and she will be tempted to have them join YPFDJ. In the meantime, she makes her way to the Eritrean Embassy and signs “nay taEssa wereqet.” The same thing can be said about the 17 years old Eritrean girl Saron and the young guy Henok as well. A while back Isaias said something to that effect as he understood clearly the dilemma of the people when he said, they will always come back for they are on a picnic or a vacation. He sure has put a leash on the people with an utter certainty. That is the bizarre and unreal narrative of the Eritrean people.

    Well said Aman!
Issayas had been a murderer since day one and for that he was never dared. To make the matter worse, he was and still is adorned by many. What a paradox? The basic fact here is: the perpetuators tolerate his crime because they saw some benefits to themselves. They feed it in hope that one day he wwould be the biggest monster that they can imagine – – although with having some hope deep inside that one day it will not turn against them. By and by, when he turned his face against them they come to respect his actions more due to the fear they created. Enough said. Now what is that we want to accomplish? We understand the vague goals of the so called opposition organizations are fantasy.
Hence we need to have a clear vision, conception and a practical goal something that we could aim at. But first and foremost we must have some type of “CONSTITUTION” in hand. Without it, we will be subjected to march on the same spot. I for one would recommend brother Fesstum Abraham’s draft. If somebody has a better one so be it. Otherwise we will end up keep shooting in the dark not at any clear target for years to come and this is not what we want to accomplish. Currently, “The Monsoon Winds” are blowing against the dictator and his perpetuators let’s use the momentum.
Any action is better than No Action but talk.
