This person is one Eritrean that I have come to hear to state – with his own word and conscious mind “He is truly sorry that he did not speak out earlier or do something while he was in Eritrea”. I give this man a whole lot of credit. True man who has gotten the lesson in life.

No other Eritrean to this day – who had some sort of authority in Eritrean government and has left Eritrea – have yet to say “sorry “I” failed Eritrea”. As I was scribbling this note – Emnuel from radio demo.archive.assenna.commented during this interview this very issue with Eritrean! Meaning – no Eritrean takes ownership of their fault or failure. Eritreans either deny or refuse to grow up “meaning – admit their fault”.

Side nudge – Could this be that Eritreans grow up very late in life? I mean late as in when we are either cornered with bad situations or we are used up and about to be spat out; or we age beyond age 50 or 60? Or perhaps never? I hope others will follow this man who stated that he is sorry.

Mr. Michael – be safe and well done

Ayte Tekle started enjoy the free ride to invade asssenna forum
as usual with pen names in disguise . Can some one from assenna
mederators kick his ass and say this forum belongs to Eritreans and
    to good hearted friends with good will . Nothing to say except to pray ;
Auzzu billah minek wo min aljin fi aklek
Besmeam menfes kudus kabakhan kab ziserereka diablosn .
We voice against authoritarian government but you crossed
the line to voice against general Etitrean population . I hope people
do not take you serious to fell at negative emotions .

This interview speaks the mind of many people who couldn’t figure out the
exact reason to see ourselves at present mess . I agree with Michael we all
played a role for destructive fate by betraying our influential leaders who
made history in Eritrean revolution . And like Amanuel put it ; the fault
lie on our society in general either at their support for unjust actions or
from the silence showed buy the majority . We can’t put blame based on
individual responsibility . We witnessed HGDF’s security mercyless and
sophisticated detail that built prisons all over the country .
Unless Etitreans inside the country find alternative ground which give
means to fight back , the only choice left is to flee .

I applaud and praise Micheal Araya for his courage to be a witness to the treason and degrading human tragedy done by Esayas and his cronies.

His humility and expression of remorse is remarkable and educational. To my mind his only guilt is serving the Eritrea people in his capacity. His service is hijacked for ill and disgraceful conduct. He has no reason to apologize as he did not order or neither was his decision to be there. Nevertheless, his act of remorse and honesty has to be praised.

He said He regretted not saying nothing at the moment. But that action would have been heroic, but futile and, sorry to say, stupid. They would have disposed of him and would not have be witness now.

Micheal for me you are a decent person and heroic gesture. i hope many of us can learn and act the way you acted. If we all bear witness then change will come eventually.

Hi Asena and Mr Michael Araya,it was a wonderful testimony about G15 and our hero’s Journalist prison life, its really sad to hear but we realize how much they paid sacrifice to change the Eritrean people life? Mr Michael Araya is an innocent person, also he is asking an apologize to all Eritrean people especially to Victims Family, They ordered to him like other Eritrean solders to keep these high ranking officials and Journalist, so he had no option to refuse as we know dictator rules,Mr Michael moved from Assab fronline like other solders who was battling with Ethiopians solders,he didn’t know what was happening inside the Regime, he just saw them in Embatkala prison, Petros selomun,Haile durue,Mahmud sherifo, and other prisoners, I guess it was hard time for him too because as we know if you know more secret information after a time the dictator must eliminate you to erase his tactics not to tell to other peiple.Mr Michael Araya is so lucky to escape from the Regime too,I think the Family of Victims should accept his apologize, he wasn’t involved in crime but he is asking apologize, it’s good decision Mr Michael Araya, you can get peace of mind right now.Thank you so much for your sharing you past horrible life with the Regime. God Bless you Miko, all the best for your next step of life too.Bye.
