Twenty-six years after Eritrea achieved its independence and gained its sovereignty, the Eritrean

people find themselves denied their God-given freedom. Independent Eritrea has become the home to

the enslaved Eritreans in general, and the younger generation of Eritrea in particular.

Twenty-six years after Eritrea’s independence, the centralized power of PFDJ in Eritrea is not

governed by legal and constitutional instruments of legality. Lawlessness rules in Eritrea. The

practices of the Eritrean government are totally criminal. The Eritrean officials thrive in criminal activities.

They use deception, lies, misinformation, and extensive networks of corruption to agonize and

torment the Eritrean people. Making life in Eritrea miserable, fearful, and endlessly stressful is

the structured task of the PFDJ regime. Advocating for human rights in Eritrea is considered a

crime by a regime that prides itself as standing against advocates for democracy.

Twenty-six years after Eritrea achieved its sovereignty, the Eritrean people find themselves

subjected to a wholesale collective punishment. Eritreans, young and old, men and women, are

deprived of freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of movement, and freedom of

expression.   The   youth of Eritrea who were hoped   to continue the heroic legacies of their

“Yekaalo”   fathers   find   themselves   enslaved   by   PFDJ   at   labor   camps   doing   the   Eritrean

landscape. Thousands of Eritrean youths flee the labor camps to escape enslavement. Scores

are shot by PFDJ border guards under instruction to shoot and kill. Young Eritrean boys and girls,

the hope and bastions of Eritrea’s future, are driven away from their land attempting to escape

the hellish treatment under PFDJ rule. As they escape to distant lands, Eritrean youths find

themselves exposed to predators, killers, kidnappers, and enslavers.

Twenty-six years since Eritrea’s independence and sovereignty, the Eritrean family is destroyed,

destitute, and in endless sorrow. There is no happiness, there is no hope, and there is no help in

Eritrea.

Twenty-six years after Eritrea gained its independence and sovereignty, the Eritrean people

remain enslaved at home and helpless, homeless, and hopeless refugees at all corners of the

world. After Eritrea gained its sovereignty, Eritrea is sovereign, but the Eritrean people are not

free. They are being subjected to endless human rights abuses of unprecedented magnitude.

A Call for Unity and Action:

While we are celebrating our independence, and honoring the selfless sacrifices of our fallen

heroes and heroines, as citizens, it is our responsibility to get actively involved. It is our duty to

stand up and be united as a common front condemning the crime against humanity in our

country, Eritrea. We urgently need to mount a concentrated effort to bring justice, democracy,

and peace to our nation and our longsuffering people.

Not sure it this is a step forward or backward. We heard these names long time ago and after long time of hibernation they are surfacing now. Can some one tell me where they were and what they were doing? I just want to learn if they have been doing something. Do we know some names behind these groups? I do not think we are ready to entertaing individuals who hide behind computer to fight the fight from now on. We need brave, comutted, believers in the power of the people, honest, visionary and eager to engage the grass root to transform the movement into action and not to just sit behind computers and write and wait for the things that they write to somehow perform a miracle. We need some one like wedi vaccaro, kibrom dafla, dr araya. Others like dr andebirhan can have positive contribution but sounds like a dictator replacing another dictator..

Words are not going to fight. I would like to exclude galant fighters and heros of yesterday who understood what rhe struggle was for and are now fighting for democracy by uniting and mixing themselves with the people/ grass root like kubur abona, hawna, wedna kubrom dafla from the rest who dance the same with iseyas under the banner of opposition. These non believers in the peoples power think they brought us independence and thus they have to always rule us and we have to be ready to be ruled accepting their orders like a talking objects or slaves. That seems to be The only lesson learned in school of ararib. I give credit to durue who tried to challenge and warned us by pousing to the point questions when a word was taken out of context to deliberately be used against him by the beasts. Hope to see bright, farsighted heros like durue who will advance his couse for his couse is our couse. We can not aford to waste time with those who distanced themselves from the criminal gangs in asmara but not far enough to shake off their believe that they are above the people. Non sense school of ararib ideology.

Good news Ahwat, that is what we need, more merger, more collaboration, more incorporation, working in tandem towards one and only goal- discarding HGDEF and its tenets into the trash can of history and replacing it with a vibrant democracy where each and every Eritrean citizen regardless of gender, creed, ethnic group and religion will reap the benefit of the sweat and blood of those who gave us a sovereign nation which belongs to all of us not a selected few.

You are so boring and outdated all you talk is about HGDEF this and that but never mentions about your criminal barbaric ELF mendef which committed so much atrocities and savagery against Eritreans especially the poor peasants and our minority nationals. It seems you are conditioned to repeat ELF criminal bandits propaganda, lies & trashes of the past. Do we have to keep reminding you that we are in the advanced 21st century and not in your past 60s killings.

Again my friend,I am not here to entertain but to enlighten and encourage people like you who has lost a sense of logic and yes indeed,we are ‘in advanced 21st century’ with an archaic HGDEF”S system consuming our society and you keep going back to the 60’s and nibbling at old wound to satisfy your divisive craving.Keep licking your saliva might end up healing the wound.

        Tsehaye,
If you had known how Jebha fighters use to communicate and compare them to Shabia’s fighters, and if you know how Robat’s function, the Robats would love Shabia fighters.
Jebha fighters were more civilized, highly democratic, and more humane.
So, your comment here is void.

Disclosure: I was neither a Jebha fighter nor a Robat

This is an Eritrean issue. But since you think Eritrea should not be there, so that your country gets a sea outlet, you better shut up and mind your business .

        • k.tewolde May 27, 2017

Good Sunday everyone,Nahon, indeed it is an Eritrean issue, however outside intruders like Tsehaye have been washing up like sea water into our clean aquifer and contaminating its contents for years. The Eritrean people at one time in history with a heavy heart gambled with their life hoisted their TABOT and took it to the field to broker truce among their fighting children, guess what, the intruders declined and disrespected the religious shrine they were holding and sent them back to capital dejected to face their fate.God has never been kind to that land since and the intruders took power and have been shredding us to pieces to this day.It is time for reverse osmosis and filter them out and claim our purity back the way we were- GENUINE ERITREANS and apologize to our parents and the Lord who we sent back to Asmara packing. MERGEM WELADI INTEZEYKETELE YE’ENENU

          • Nahon May 28, 2017

The regime of brute and many rootless elements at the top have no interest in seeing Eritrea at peace with it’s neighbors and making progress internally. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to get rid of them until we all unite and put our resources together to fight them.

        Thehaye
U can argue presenting theoretical or practically observed or assumed benefits of unity with ethiopia or supporting hgdf (if u can find certain things that u think are good) and we can read, challenge or argue or debate with u in a healthy constructive way. Barking at people with out trying to communicate ur view is a sign of internal crisis and problem. Are u having mental breakdown? I do not see good signs in u bro. God help u even if u are an enemy.

A good news in deed! Dear compatriots, let’s all unite together for justice and the rule of law, and reject and isolate the lawless and evil regime. Ones we in the diaspora alienate and put a tremendous pressure up on the regime, I’m sure that our people back home will be encouraged to free themselves from the shackles of fear, and the downfall of the evil regime will be eminent there after. Alia continua!
